As a Histology Technologist II, you will review orders for necessary information and compare with specimen labels. You will notate and correct any discrepancies by notifying the sender.
The specimens will be processed according to procedure and analyzed as soon as possible upon receipt in the laboratory. You will evaluate normal and abnormal tissue types and properly label, cut and embed tissue for microscopic evaluation. You will also assist with special staining procedures and organize work so slides are prepared, stained and ready for the Pathologist in the morning. You will recognize problems in variation of slide staining and investigate before reporting.
You Will:
Prepare, process and stain pathology tissues and cytology samples for review by the pathologist under the direction of a laboratory supervisor, manager or director
Perform duties consistent with written procedures and regulatory requirements
Apply theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine using independent judgement to ensure timely and accurate patient care delivery.
Retrieve specimens from OR
Assist with gross examination of small biopsies and prepare tissues for processing, staining and screening of samples, batching and referral of cases to referral laboratories as required
Support the department in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities
You Should Have:
A 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science
A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is beneficial

Position Purpose:
Repair and Tool Technicians are responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. This position makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained.
Technicians work in both our stores with Tool Rental Centers and in our repair centers. In a store, technicians will be expected to provide service to store customers in Tool Rental which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking to make sure tool is operating properly and demonstrating its proper use (as needed). In addition to supporting customer repair needs, they are also responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians will ensure units are repaired, tested for the quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the store where the repair originated. Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of all tools and must effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining the tools and repairing them as necessary.
