Machine Operator - Folder (1St Shift)
Corporate Graphics Commercial is seeking a new folder operator to join our growing production team. We have current openings for machine operators on our 1st shift.
You will operate a folder producing paper products according to job ticket specifications. You are responsible to approve or disapprove of the quality of finished jobs completed in the bindery and bookbinding departments.
Shift is Monday through Friday; 6:00AM-2:30 PM. Overtime opportunities available!
Have good attention to detail.
Have the ability to train on bindery equipment including folders and collators in order to assist other bindery personnel with completion of jobs.
Lift boxes and materials. Must have the ability to lift 40 Lbs. on a regular basis.

Folder Operator - Bindery (797-304)
Seeking an Experienced Bindery Folder Operator
MBO and/or Stahl Folder experience preferred.
Must be willing to work a rotating night shift 7pm - 7am schedule; overtime, weekends and holidays, a must.
Hourly rate of $18-22 per hour based on experience and skills.

Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces or other attachments (i.e. inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines and/or set up automatic bindery machines containing multiple functions and station capabilities (power paper cutters, power collators and gatherers, power folders, power speed binder) which can be electromechanically combined with other equipment and devices to produce a complete bindery and finishing unit that processes printed sheets into final books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines or other completed products. Inspect equipment for safety issues. May operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) that contain numerous interrelated process stations that are fed collated sheets or signatures and perform such functions as vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering and delivering or stacking completed books, magazines or catalogs. Make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine. Direct crew though all aspects of production. Monitor quality, output and productivity.
General knowledge of the more complex bindery machines (i.e. fully automatic binding machines (perfect binders), multiple station collators and multiple folding units, either individually or combined) to perform the full range of standard and specialized folds of printed materials.
Thorough knowledge of the set up, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product.
Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing bindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided; independently makes decisions on the type of equipment to be used.
Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock.
Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials.
Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machines.

Working as a Bindery Operator, you would set up, adjust and operate all relevant bindery equipment such as: MBO folders with pile and continuous feeders; Heidelberg/Stahl Folders with continuous feeders; and 6 pocket Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchers to produce quality finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
You would also have the following job duties and responsibilities;
Access the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs to be completed.
Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
Make machine (s) ready, set up assigned machines to specifications and run products as required
Quality control of completed jobs, providing updates on job status and schedule to the supervisor
Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and timely flow of materials
Monitor assigned machine during run to ensure machines are maintaining the proper requirements
Unload machine and stack materials on pallets
Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements
Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Floor Supervisor
Maintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication
Remove waste items for recycling
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc…
Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
Report any and all workplace hazards, work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Keep all work areas/work stations in compliance with our housekeeping guidelines
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard

Folder Gluer Assistant - Holland, MI

GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible
for loading, catching, and packing cartons on the folder gluer machine while
maintaining established quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Loads and feeds cartons
into the feed station.
- Prints out two labels
containing job ticket information and places them at the packing station.
- Sets up the packing
station and the tape machine to accommodate specific carton sizes.
- Checks the die size
listed on the job ticket to determine the appropriate corrugated box size and
quantity for each job. Gets the boxes
for each job from inventory and brings them to the packing station.
- Packs cartons into the
boxes according to the quantities listed on the packing instructions.
- Responsible for quality
inspection of cartons including offset, register, color, scum, gluing, skewing,
air hammer damage, and general
of cartons. Informs gluer operator or finishing supervisor of quality concerns.
- Pulls random carton
samples from each run according to customer specifications.
- Clears machine and the
area within the designated blue clearance line after each carton run and picks
up and destroys all foreign
Empties barrels and disposes of scrap corrugated. Removes the last skid from
each run with a power hand truck.
- Cleans the machine with
an air hose and sweeps the surrounding floor area on a daily basis.
- Notifies the shipping
department when the corrugated inventory is low.
- Clocks into the
appropriate job function on the time keeping system as needed based on work
- Responsible for timely
and accurate completion of all ISO forms and quality checks for each job.
- Performs job duties in
accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
