1.Supervise Food Service Workers, Dishwashers, Cooks and Janitors. Provide supervision and direction to workers regarding job requirements and performance, including assigning task responsibilities for the crew each day. Complete monthly assessment forms, performance evaluations and communicate client, employee and customer issues to Project Manager and make recommendations for correction and discipline.
2.Support crew members by providing timely and thorough training and feedback. Oversee new worker training and ongoing training for all members of the crew.
3.Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and assuring proper use of company resources. Obtain tools necessary for the job to be completed. Inform the Project Manager of any needs which cannot be satisfied with current equipment and supplies. Advise Project Manager in timely fashion as additional supplies are needed. Maintain equipment by performing preventative and minor maintenance.
4.Maintain quality control standards. Complete regular inspections and promptly correct any deficiencies and rectify any customer complaints.
5.Assist crew in completing contract required tasks. Serves portions of food on trays and/or plates. Prepares the dining and serving areas by setting up counters and tables. Prepares pot and pan area, utilizing the three sink method, as required. Scrapes excess product from dishes and utensils prior to washing. Empties trash containers as needed. Mops up any spills and completely mops the kitchen floor at the end of the shift.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
2 years of combined food service experience which may include serving, food ordering, preparation, cooking, dish machine and beverage dispenser operation, preferably in a cafeteria or banquet type environment, with at least 1 year experience in a supervisory or training role.
Currently possess Food Sanitation License, CPR Certification and First Aid Certification (or be able to obtain license & certifications within 6 months of employment; cannot fail Food Service exam twice in a 6 month period)
Must pass criminal background check
Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.
Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria, maintain valid drivers license and be 21 or older to drive.

The Department of Retail Services is a university run operation consisting of both residential and retail food service units, as well as 20|20 Catering, vending and concessions.
This position will oversee Cambridge Commons Residence Hall cafeteria, located at 2323 N Cambridge Ave (Off Campus).
Under the general supervision of a Food Service Manager, the incumbent will supervise the operation of the Cambridge Cafe or other units as assigned. The incumbent will be responsible for opening and/or closing procedures and daily operation of the unit(s) providing hot and cold food production concentrating on batch cooking, made to order, and fresh products.
Essential duties include training and leading all staff including full time staff, student employees and temporary staff in food/beverage production, sanitation and customer service. Daily responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining inventory products and supplies, assuring the display and pricing of products is attractive, preparing menu items on site using approved recipes and proper timing of production to assure that products are fresh and that waste is minimized.
