In this position, the Lead Process Engineer provides process engineering expertise from conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, construction grade scope and estimates, detailed design, start-up, system optimization, and trouble-shooting. Key Responsibilities
Lead the process design on projects or a team of process engineers on larger engineering projects and provide direction and coordination to other disciplines as the process lead
Support project proposal efforts by developing a process scope of work and process man-hour estimate in support of the defined Client scope; Develop staffing plan and schedule to support the man-hour estimate and schedule from concept through design and start-up
Develop and/or oversee production of engineering reports, studies, calculations, PFD’s, P&ID’s, GA’s, equipment specifications/data sheets, and review/approval of vendor submittals
Assure quality of design documents and process deliverables
Manage projects within budget and schedule constraints by interacting with Clients, team members and management to resolve project roadblocks
Participate and provide leadership in Client and project team meetings to establish project objectives and coordinate and/or resolve design problems
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Professional registration is a plus)
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the consulting engineering profession with progressive roles in working in a team environment on design of pulp and paper projects
Proven history of leading the Process design effort on Pulp and Paper projects
Experience in Pulp and Paper Industry is required; specifically, working knowledge of the various unit operations such as:
Causticizing and Chemical Recovery
Chemical Pulping Fiber lines (wood yard, pulp mill, bleach plant etc.)
Recycle Fiber (OCC, ONP, MW etc.)
Machines (stock approach, various grades such as tissue, fluff pulp, linerboard etc.)
Experience in a variety of technical and/or operational assignments in the paper industry is a plus
Expertise in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that expertise into cost, quality, and/or capacity improvements is a plus

Forest Ranger I
Summary The Forest Ranger I is responsible for fire prevention and suppression activities, fire suppression equipment maintenance, and assisting with forest management activities within an assigned area. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Typical Functions Locates fire sites following legal land description or directions. Performs wild fire suppression activities, including construction of fire lines, and inspects and secures fire lines by removing limbs, snags, and brush, as needed.
Operates dozers and plows to construct fire lines. Collects information to determine timber/soil type, seedling planting rate, seedling survival rate, property boundaries, and insect and disease infestation. Performs preventative maintenance and repair of agency vehicles, fire suppression equipment, tools, and facilities.
Presents fire prevention programs to elementary schools, civic groups, and rural volunteer fire departments utilizing audio-visual aids and costumes. Collects geographic information system data for forest management programs utilizing global position system (GPS) and hand held data equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Special Job Dimensions Exposure to extreme weather conditions, rough terrain, and potentially hazardous and/or dangerous conditions and in-state travel is required. May be required to work under extended subject-to-call status and extended work hours. Must reside within assigned area as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications Other requirements include must reside within the county of their work station/counties of responsibility, or reside within a distance that will allow for the employees to arrive at the work station and be in route to the emergency within a thirty minute time period, must meet physical fitness standards annually, and frequent twenty-four hour on-call duty and frequent exposure to hazardous conditions while fighting fires and marking timber is required. A commercial drivers license is required within 90 days of hire.
