Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a gravure press or single or multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical or operate similarly situated equipment that applies a variety of non-ink based coatings to a paper web or sheet stock. Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn). Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments. Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully.
Skill to make a variety of difficult precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment. Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment. Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being run. Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
Candidate must have manufacturing experience, press operating experience preferred.

DUTIES: The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the functions associated with being a Press Operator. To qualify, an individual must be able to set up and operate multiple CNC machines and presses with minimal or no supervision and perform all of the following:
Produce product as described in the shop order.
Recognize repeat customer orders and identify specific customer requirements.
Maintain each press according to maintenance procedures and diagnose and repair minor maintenance problems.
Service tools when necessary.
Assist machine technicians when necessary.
Check raw material for adherence to job requirements and detect improper or defective material.
Adhere to all quality control/assurance procedures.
Identify and separate all scrap alloys properly.
Set proper die clearance.
Select proper punch grade
Select and apply proper lubrication.
Detect when a tool needs to be service.
Compare shop drawings to shop orders for accuracy.
Read shop order and shop drawings and set up a tool accordingly.
Select and set proper feed roll pressure.
Detect incorrect setup of program and correct or advise supervisor.
Determine and set slide and stripper settings.
Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those required upon reassignment or transfer and regardless of whether the duties assigned are included within or related to his/her normal duties.

Must possess basic math and reading skills.
Requires ability to read a ruler, set calipers, read a blue print and micrometer.
Minimum of 1 year as a machine technician or equivalent machine operating experience.

Position Overview
Perform production work on a variety of punch presses loading and unloading parts and basic inspection to insure the quality of the parts. Will have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to advance to Punch Press Operator #2 classification.

SUMMARY
Sets up and operates rotogravure printing press to print designs on rolls of flexible plastic film by performing the following duties. Accountable and ultimately responsible for the quality and quantity of material produced and all related documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure personal compliance with all company Quality System, Operational, and Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices, including Safety and housekeeping procedures.
Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Ensures job and material is in order prior to machine set up. Performs set up and pushes button to activate press.
Observes machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
Meets or exceeds prescribed job standards for line speeds, scrap and set up times.
Loads and unloads roll stock.
Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of cylinders as necessary.
Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
Cleans cylinders, cleans doctor blades, prepares doctor blades, and lubricates press as needed.
Works cooperatively with the Quality Assurance department to ensure the delivery of high quality products.
Completes required documentation and enters data into the computer database accurately and timely.
Syteline transactions include but are not limited to accurate materials issue/withdraw to/from production jobs, job receipt finished goods, completion of applicable job operation.
Responsible for press clean-up and transfer of waste to the satellite accumulation container.
Inspects and prepares hazardous waste containers for shipment on a weekly basis.
Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvement environment.
Review work instructions and procedures that are applicable to the position.
Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.
HAZARDOUS WASTE RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual is responsible for handling and disposing of any hazardous waste associated with printing and laminating processes in accordance with county, state and/or federal guidelines. waste contingency plan alternate
Place hazardous waste into correct containers.
Label and mark hazardous waste containers properly.
Place hazardous waste containers in storage area.
Obtain containers for hazardous waste storage.
Handle hazardous waste containers properly including keeping waste containers closed when not in used and grounding and bonding during the transfer of flammables.
Respond to hazardous waste emergencies and spills.
Performs weekly inspection of all containers, underground storage tank and the associated leak detection system and floor integrity.
Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Position Summary:
Inspect and pack finished ends as required. Assist adjusters in machine maintenance and in the starting of machinery.
Essential Job Functions (listing most important first)
Inspect finished ends continuously and records the results of this inspection on the required forms.
Sleeve and properly pack the finished ends on the proper skid for the ends being run.
Attach the proper end identification to the finished end packages. Pull out finished skid of ends and position end skid in proper position for packing of ends.
Change loads in Dexter feeder to minimize downtime.
Assist the adjusters in the maintenance of department equipment.
Stop and start department equipment as needed. Safely pull jams as needed.
Maintain good housekeeping in the department and in the work area at all times.
Train press operators under the direction of the shift supervisor.
Clean equipment during scheduled weekly maintenance. Clean liner table and nozzle area during regular shift.
Sweep and mop floor as required.
Observe all rules of safety.
Assist in removing full scrap carts from the presses.
Assist in weekly clean up of presses and liners during scheduled maintenance.
Perform other duties as required by the shift supervisor.

Safely and effectively run a lost foam molding machine, the operators duty is to remove the Styrofoam parts from the parts catcher, inspect and then pack the parts into cardboard boxes or movable racks.

Position Objective: The Digital Press Operator role is responsible for the set up and operation of multi-color digital printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Performs routine printing procedures according to specifications, most of which require specific skills and aptitudes.
Reviews orders and verifies appropriate stocks and laser die lines are utilized as specified.
Pulls specifications, verifies colors, ripped artwork revision, die line, stock, and special instructions.
Performs line clearance by following digital line clearance SOP.
Sets up machine; installs inks, correct stock, die line, and print alignment.
Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
Completes all start-up checks, verifies scan ability of bar code, and obtains start approval.
Loads the specified type of paper and feeds the paper through the press cylinders.
Closes out job by verifying end to start approval and completing necessary paperwork.
Performs technical adjustments and maintenance of the digital press.
Adheres to procedures performing quality inspections, visual discrimination, print quality analysis and judgment.
Adheres to procedures and operates machine to achieve throughput and waste goals.

Job Description
The operator runs main line roll to roll presses, unique to Chalfont. This department provides the main printed material for the internal Conversion department and for use at other DMS locations. As one of the creators of printed stock for our product, the operator provides the customer with superior images on a consistent basis, allowing customers to focus on issues.
Responsibilities
1.Maintain color consistency on press and run to shop industry standards.
2.Perform QC checks including checking plates for color-bars, obvious dirt spots, fragmented type, or other problems that would require a new plate. Performs layouts for special positioning. Rule up the press sheet to verify accuracy of the lay out.
3.Ensure regular maintenance is performed in accordance to the company maintenance plan.
4.Identify and specify needs in the Pressroom (equipment and supplies) and communicate those needs to the Department Manager.
5.Monitor the performance of the 1st and 2nd assistants.
6.Ensure the quality of production runs through the time stamp procedure.
7.Record relative information on the job ticket i.e., trap sequence, ink formulas, problems, stock count, etc.
8.Accurately log time into ship data collection system.
9.Perform other duties as assigned.
10. Actively participate in safety programs, follow safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
Must be detail and deadline oriented.
Must be able to multitask and be flexible.
Must be well versed in all aspects of running a press.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Supporting Abilities/Skills:
Must be self-motivated.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Press specific experience a plus.
Education/Experience:
5 years minimum in Pressroom production experience.
Must have working knowledge of Pressroom practices.
