Responsibilities and Qualifications
Our Anoka, MN location, where Federal Premium Ammunition is produced, is seeking Machine Operator/Pellet Chargers to add to our team. The Federal Premium location has a rich history in the community and has been operating since 1922. The Machine Operator/Pellet Charger is responsible for monitoring the quality of the operation's output making adjustments to keep the operation within specification and will rotate to the operation of putting primer mix in primer cups.
Potential Openings on the following full-time shifts:
Shift S: 7pm-7am Fri/Sat/Sun
The first 6-8 weeks will likely be on another shift for training.
Starting wage is $19.41/hr (+ applicable shift premium) with increases every 90 days up to $28.23/hr.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED (requires verification)
At least 1 year of on-the-job experience with manufacturing preferred
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old; able to pass a background check and pre-employment physical & drug screen; and pass required written testing. This position also will require a post-offer BATFE background check.
Machine Operator portion of job physical requirements:
A majority of time spent sitting, standing and moving about.

2.Maintains glass levels and temperatures in all furnaces.
3.Checks level visually, as well as checks operation of automatic level gauge.

5.Checks furnaces to determine faulty operation conditions such as hot spots, dirty burners, clogged checkers, and furnace leaks.

The furnace technician will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), System Accuracy Tests (SAT) and furnace control instrument calibrations. Troubleshoot and repair furnace instruments and combustion systems to maintain operation of furnaces in a Quality environment in accordance with quality compliance procedures.

Provide maintenance and repair services for Hot Work production furnaces and Heat Treat furnaces.
Sound understanding of combustion theory and application of concepts during furnace troubleshooting and repair to maintain thermal furnace characteristics and operational efficiency.
Prepare survey racks and stands for the performance of Temperature Uniformity Surveys to include: cutting and welding thermocouple wire to the required length(s) and affixing them to the correct positions on the survey rack / stand(s) in accordance with quality procedures.
Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys test using a Portable Survey Datalogger Field Test Instrument mobile computer.
Upload the Temperature Uniformity Survey results to the network system for proper review and acceptance by the Quality personnel in order to release the furnace back to production following the performance of Temperature Uniformity Survey or System Accuracy Test.
Calibrate furnace control instruments such as the temperature chart recorders, temperature controllers and the over limit controllers.
Create the certification of calibration for each instrument and affix calibration sticker that shows calibration date and due date in accordance with quality procedures.
Work directly with the Quality Department representatives, supervision and management to immediately identify and correct issues affecting the compliant functioning of furnaces.
Assuring that after the quality personnel reviews and approves the certification of calibration file calibration records with the maintenance planner.
Validate and confirm sufficient furnace components are on hand for the performance of scheduled TUS, SAT and calibrations.
Ensure that all the instruments that can not be calibrated in house get calibrated by an outside source, such as Optical pyrometers, potentiometers and gas analyzers.
Review material certifications to ensure they have been approved for release and use by the Quality Department for thermocouple wire, control thermocouples, potentiometers, optical - pyrometers and Gas analyzers prior to their usage for both Forge and Heat Treat Departments.
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and electro-mechanical controls a must.
All these duties are performed in accordance with Spec. AMS2750 Pyrometry latest revision.

Activating and tending electric furnace that anneals base sections of hardened parts for subsequent machining
Setting automatic controls, observing gauges, and operating gas or electric furnace used to harden temper, or anneal metal parts
Loading parts into containers, closing furnace door, and inserting parts into furnace when specified temperature is reached
Determining flame temperatures, current frequencies, heating cycles, and induction heating coils needed based on degree of hardness required and properties of stock to be treated

Furnace Operator - 2Nd Shift
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.
Set gas flow and temperature for heat-treating furnaces. Monitor furnace temperature for specific heat treating jobs and make adjustments as needed according to product specifications after consulting with the lead or shift supervisor.
Set up and operate the Supers Line and other furnaces as needed
Position products in baskets; load furnaces and time prescribed heating cycles to bring metal to proper temperatures; document procedures.

Electron Beam Furnace Operator
Operate and maintain TIMET's high productivity vacuum induction furnaces located in Vallejo, CA. Interpret and respond to the needs of the equipment.
40-60% of the operators' time will be spent operating the furnace; the balance will be devoted to the application of special skills.
Perform preoperative checks prior to and during pump down cycle.
Use pre-pump and start up checklist.
Set up and operate the furnace as directed for melting to include:
