Maximize the company growth and profitability by performing the highest level of wood, finish, frame and/or expert upholstery repairs.
Determine damage and defects versus inherent characteristics of furniture to identify a course of action for the merchandise.
Correct the defects and perform the highest level of wood repairs, refinishing, spraying and/or upholstery to meet quality standards for customer merchandise.
Complete all paperwork in order to chargeback vendors for repairs to offset the cost of labor.
Move open furniture, merchandise, supplies, and/or boxes repetitively.
Follow the loss prevention and security guidelines to minimize inventory shrinkage and profit loss.
Promote a culture of respect and an atmosphere of teamwork in order to foster a positive working environment.
Abide by the established dependability guidelines to maintain business productivity.
Listen actively and effectively.
Clearly communicate in both verbal and written form.

Apprentice Furniture Repair Technician
If you are an experienced Furniture Repair Technician, or you have the motivation to learn a new trade, and understand the importance of customer service, we want to talk to you! Our Furniture Repair Technicians are trained to fully repair all furniture whether it be stitching upholstery; wood and leather repairs, or repairing mechanisms in motion furniture, while in the customers’ homes. Using our company vans, our Furniture Repair Technicians travel to our customers’ homes to perform in home repairs and provide excellent customer service. The position will be based out of our Reading, MA store. However, training will take place in Nashua, NH.
Refinishes and patches damaged furnitureincluding paint, stain, enamel or lacquers; mixes paints and stains to match existing finish
Repairs, replaces and rebuilds damaged leather or upholstery furniture or mechanical parts
Sets up and operates such tools as power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repair
Completes repair related paperwork and other documentation as required
Safely drives company van to customers’ homes to assess and repair damaged furniture
Effectively educates and informs customers on repair techniques and/or warranty programs
Must be able to lift up to 110 pounds
Must have a valid license and possess a safe driving record
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively in difficult customer situations

Essential Functions: 1. Works under general supervision to prepare furniture for finish and disassembly using blueprints, aircraft specifications and design/engineering drawings. 2.
Performs high quality repairs to various finished surfaces in the shop and aboard aircraft. Cleans and polishes blemishes as needed to prepare the aircraft for delivery. Applies finish to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods. 3.
Uses various types of sandpapers, polishes, adhesives, masking mediums, solvents, finish materials, hand tools and various power tools to disassemble and finish furniture. 4.
