Installs plates and blankets on press cylinders

Pressroom Press Feeder - 2nd Shift

This is a 2nd Shift position. Ensures that press is properly supplied with paper and other supplies as needed. May assist with pre-make-readies and make-readies.
Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly.
Inspects the fountain solution, inking systems, paper and the mechanisms related to the reels.
Maintains proper inventory of paper and supplies.
Assists with preventative maintenance of the presses.
May assist with make-readies.

Compares identifying information on paper stock with specifications on production ticket to verify the correct stock is being pulled. Winds stacks of paper with hands to prevent paper from jamming in press and places stack into loading tray of sheet-fed offset press or pre-loading stand of paper.
Operates forklift truck to transport skids of paper to and from press and move empty skids to back of press for sheet delivery.
Responsible for staging paper to be used on upcoming job in press staging area.
Responsible for filling all press chemicals, loading inks, putting away inks when done with job and refilling process inks on press shelf when needed.
Understands the importance of environmental responsibilities and disposal of press waste
Responsible for ensuring all used rags are disposed of in rag bin and that the lids remain closed
Responsible for ensuring only one drum of AQ flush water and one drum of fountain solution flush water remain at the press.
Removes any full AQ/Fountain solution flush water drums from press to Non-Hazardous waste staging area.
Ensures that any new drum used to collect waste at the press are properly labeled
Responsible for cleaning ink knives, cleaning ink fountains, cleaning water buckets, cleaning any coater spills, cleaning washer blades and keeping the press area in a clean state, as well as emptying all garbage bins in press area.
Responsible for picking up used rags and gloves in press area, changing rag bag when full and maintaining stack of clean rags for use on the press.
Responsible for shrink wrapping unused paper after a run and filling out the "Leftover Stock" form and attaching it to leftover stock.
Assists the pressman in any maintenance of the press.
Ability to lift 40 Lbs. and work with chemicals and inks necessary to the printing process
Forklift certification required
Previous experience in a printing environment preferred. Some experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment.

The Feeder Packer performs Finishing functions by supporting the department by assisting with packing products. Follow general safety and compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Operate and/or tend a variety of assembly, printing, packaging and/or material feeder equipment as set up by department personnel, in a routine, repetitious fashion as assigned following the department's standard operating procedures.
Fill a variety of in process material into material feeder equipment, by hand or scoop, assuring that equipment is adequately filled and feeding properly. (Or) Tend barrel printing machine(s); install printing tape or fill ink reservoirs as required. Start machine and observe for correct operation; make necessary adjustments. Place empty and remove full containers to and from machine, dump material into box, affix labels, record and stack onto pallet.
Perform packaging operation off a variety of automatic packaging equipment; place empty bag(s) on chutes; remove full bags, weigh as required; verify count; assemble intermediate box, insert bags in box, secure, assemble shipper, insert box in shipper, close, seal and stack on pallet. May pack finished product by hand and insert into appropriate box(s).
Tend automatic assembly machine. Start machine, observe for correct operation and makes adjustments for material delivery/feeder equipment and automatic packaging system, as required; maintain ink reservoirs.
Un-jam material feeder equipment as required. Inspect in process or finished product/package visually following department's specifications. Inform set up personnel or other designated personnel of any machine malfunction or defective product for correction. May move material to and from designated areas within department.
Responsible for correct recording of traceable information, production information, cleaning and safety check documentation that is required by your assigned duties.
Observe department's safety regulations and to use personal protective equipment as required.
Practice department's good manufacturing and housekeeping procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required.
Adhere to plant/Corporate policies/procedures, department safety and environmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 Standards.
Report any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Recycling machinery and equipment, including baler machine, trash compactor, and forklift.
Ensures processing, of recycling merchandise in a timely manner. Understands the whole Otay Outlet operation while following GISD policies and procedures.
Essential Functions Statements:
Operates, inspects and maintains all Outlet Equipment according to established procedures. Makes sure equipment operates properly to maximize efficiency.
When necessary, trouble-shoots the equipment, and performs minor repairs with the approval of management. In the absence of management assumes the responsibility of opening/closing the department, posting daily assignment sheet, making sure all ambassadors are in their designated area and reports any observations to management. Possesses high safety standards. Serves as a role model regarding safety. Fills out required logs, documentation required for the department and follows compliance guidelines in the department.
Assists customers with their donations. Issue donation receipts. Work collaboratively with supervisor to ensure production goals.
