Human Resource Generalist
Reports to: Human Resource Manager

The Human Resource Generalist is expected to ensure that Human Resource policies and procedures are properly interpreted, efficiently implemented and that all federal, state and local laws and statutes, as they relate to Human Resource practices are adhered to.
This position will support the Human Resource Manager in various functions.

- Lead/Assist in recruitment of personnel at all levels.
- Responsible for the HR function for the Chattanooga, TN plant.
- Arrange and direct new employee orientation.
- Conduct exit interviews, where applicable, for all terminating employees.
- Establish and maintain up-to-date confidential employee files.
- Maintain current organizational charts for the company according to the established procedures,
- Maintain necessary turnover statistics.
- Coordinate the Worker’s Compensation process and documentation.
- Cross-train/backup for payroll and benefits.
- Communicate, administer and maintain records for FMLA, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability programs.
- Assist in the selection, implementation, coordination and presentation of training programs.
- Provide interpretations to management personnel in compliance with corporate discipline policies and procedures.
- Ensure that safety policies and procedures are being enforced.
- Cross-train and be responsive to all Human Resources inquiries from Team Members and Agencies.
- Interface with various agencies such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, EEOC, etc.
- Ensure that all aspects of his or her area of responsibility are in full compliance with the quality system in place at the operation at all times.
- Ensures compliance with all federal state, and local government regulations as they relate to the Human Resource functions.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere in the plant, which will foster an “open door” policy to improve employee communications and satisfaction.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a professional office and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in the manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
Three (3) – Five (5) years’ experience in a Generalist role in a manufacturing facility.
Payroll and benefits administration experience
Microsoft Office and ADP
Preferred Education and Experience
PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP Certification strongly preferred
HR experience in a Plastics manufacturing facility.
Bi-lingual is a plus.

Provides direct service to clients in both routine and complex cases with competent use of supervision and consultation. May provide supervision, training, or consultation to other staff, volunteers, or community professionals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out clinical direct service duties at an intermediate to advanced level including:
Completes assessments required to provide treatment for behavioral issues.
Makes accurate assessments and develops and implements effective treatment plans based on psychotherapeutic and family systems theory, understanding of life developmental stages, and consideration of the impact of trauma on children.
Utilizes evidence-based treatment practices.
Provides crisis response, brief and extended therapy services for children and adolescents and their parents exposed to trauma;
Establishes and maintains an effective treatment relationship
Understands and observes State and Federal laws concerning confidentiality.
Treats clients effectively with regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social class, environment, or religion.
Carries out required data collection and reporting procedures
Follows agency reporting procedures (statistical, third party payer, outcome measures)
Works collaboratively with partnering agencies and staff
Takes responsibility for initiating, developing, and nurturing referral relationships
Attends monthly meetings to discuss program and safety issues.
Attends and assists with weekly Team meetings, Case Reviews, and Treatment Team.
Assists with conducting therapeutic groups and service learning projects.
Assists with creating monthly community outing schedule with the residential department.
Attends Foster Care Review Board, Court Hearings, and Child Family Team Meetings.
Responsible for overseeing Home Pass, Transport and Visitation scheduling for residents.
Responsible for documentation using TFACTS and Kaleidacare.
Responsible for completing documentation into Kaleidacare within 48 hours.
Responsible for adequate preparing residents for discharging including making appropriate referrals for/providing after care services.
Complete a 48 hour on-call rotation.

Evaluates treatment progress and outcomes with the client during and at the end of treatment

This position requires a Master's degree in counseling or the social work field and 2 years clinical treatment experience preferred. Must be licensed eligible and actively pursuing licensure within the State of Tennessee. Documentation of status of licensure track is required to be maintained in employee file.
