Particular emphasis will be given to strategies seeking philanthropic and volunteer support for the Farmer School of Business.
Serve as a departmental liaison for the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in addressing their philanthropic and alumni relations objectives.
Effect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship calls to alumni and friends independently and occasionally with other staff, faculty, administrators and alumni volunteers. Encourage and coordinate involvement of alumni and friends, and corporate partners through campus visits and regional events.
Prepare and present departmental and divisional proposals to alumni and friends with the input and assistance of faculty, staff, administrators and deans. Proposals may involve tax planning, gifts of real estate, personal property, securities, and gifts in wills, trusts, annuities and insurance.
Develop and implement service, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for assigned prospects with the support of Advancement Services and Office of Development staff and faculty and administrators.
Perform other duties related to the mission of the Office of Development under guidance of the Associate Vice President for Development and External Relations for the Farmer School of Business and the Senior Associate Vice President for University Advancement.
Bachelor degree required; Five years of corporate sales, business development and relationship management experience and/or fund raising experience; outstanding oral and written communications skills; commitment to collaborative approach to fundraising; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; and willingness to travel extensively both on a regional and national level.
Fund raising experience in an educational setting, management experience, and project management experience.
Hours Per Week/Percent Time:
40 hours/full time

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Head Research Farmer for the Snyder Research and Extension Farm to oversee the IR-4 research projects. The IR-4 project assists specialty crop farmers gaining EPA approval for safe and effective biological and chemical pesticides needed to grow their crops.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Oversees the field operations and employees to promote research productivity, teaching, and profitability of the unit.
Oversees the production of crops for animal needs.
Participates in the planning and coordinates production schedules and routine cropping programs such as preparing crop rotations, soil fertility, soil preparation, planting, cultivating, harvesting, storage, pasture management, pest and weed control.
Monitors residual dates of pesticides for harvesting crops.
Prepares requisitions for crop needs, purchased feed and special needs.
Assists supervisor with coordinating schedules and training new employees.
Coordinates and performs equipment use, preventative maintenance and repairs.
Coordinates and performs all building and grounds maintenance and improvement programs.
Operates a variety of farm machinery such as trucks, tractors, plows, spike tooth and disc harrows, planters, harvest spray machines and irrigation equipment.
Detects faulty operation of equipment and reports questionable conditions to supervisor.
Oversees and performs routine and major repairs as indicated.
Guides others and performs manure removal, weed control, rodent control, fencing, repairs and general maintenance for animal facilities and general farm areas to include carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc.
Ensures cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
May perform snow removal duties.
Works with facilities in coordinating teaching and research program needs and performs experimental procedures typical of an animal crop research project.
