Louisiana Cat is seeking Experienced Natural Gas Engine and Compression Field Service Technicians. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required. Flexibility and in-depth product knowledge are necessary for this position.
JOb Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts on engines and compressors.
Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
Communicate with Parts Manager for ordering of replacement parts.
Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains gas engines, compressors and components.
Tests, measures, and adjusts gas engine, compressors and components.
Prepares, inspects and operates gas engines prior to completion.
Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
Prepares inspection reports.
Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.
Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance always adhering to company policy.
On call availability 24/7 in order to meet customer needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or (GED) equivalent. 3+ years of related experience required. Experience with but not limited to Waukesha, Caterpillar, Cummins, Clark, Dresser-Rand, Ingersoll-Rand, Cooper Bessemer, White Superior, Worthington, Ariel & CP referred.Experience with high speed and slow speed engine & compression preferred. Knowledge relating to preventative maintenance, annual maintenance, in-frame overhauls, and zero-hour overhauls is required.

Engineer I - Gas Measurement
The engineer I, gas measurement, provides technical engineering services for meter specification, instrument specifications and meter and instrument troubleshooting while directing the work of others for meter testing and billing discrepancy resolution. Program instruments and support field troubleshooting activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain meter testing policies and procedures and support administration of the sample meter program. Ensure all work at the meter shop is completed safely and in compliance with all company policies and local, state and federal regulations. Manage new meter/instrument deliveries and used meter/instrument pickup from the field areas company wide.
Develop and monitor means for maintaining the accuracy of the gas meter/instrument data. Coordinate with the Billing Department and field areas on meter/instrument/ERT billing issues.

The operation of National Grid's natural gas transmission and distribution systems in a manner which maximizes safety, reliability, and efficiency of service to approximately 1.1 million customer meters, co-generators and power generation facilities.
Confirm and dispatch natural gas supplies from domestic and Canadian pipeline suppliers and peak shaving facilities for consumption by gas and electric customers.
Manage the daily gas supply contracts and transactions on behalf of the company as well as third party shippers that have access to National Grid's gas system resources.
Balance on system and off system operational constraints with intra-day swing requirements, and weather forecast uncertainty to achieve service reliability.
Direct the operational dispatch of LNG plant gas peaking facilities to meet off system sales obligations and gas system send out requirements.
Directs field operation s when natural gas transmission and distribution supply mains are shut down for construction, maintenance or in response to emergency conditions.
Accountable for the continual monitoring of all gas supplies utilizing the National Grid's Common Gas SCADA system, the National Grid and Pipeline Electronic Bulletin Boards.
Candidate is responsible for preparing hourly, daily and monthly gas logging reports and statistics.
This position helps coordinate scheduled or emergency maintenance of all major gas system components.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Position requires a solid technical foundation satisfied by either a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or advanced vocational skills attained through five or more years of on the job experience in a gas operating/production environment.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline or related technical degree is desirable
Candidates must be adept at reading maps, blueprints and piping schematics.
A practical working knowledge of all gas system components including natural gas metering stations, major gas mains, and gas regulation and production facilities is a plus.
Experience with any of the former or present Gas SCADA Systems is preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, administrative and leadership skills are essential.
Candidates must have existing computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet, Intranet, and Gas Transportation Electronic Bulletin Board).
Must be able to perform multiple tasks and be able to recognize and react to system upsets and emergencies in a timely manner.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to move up to the Lead Gas System Operator position.
Must be able to travel overnight outside of the normal work area as needed.
Will be assigned to 12 hr. rotating shift work that includes weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work off-hours and overtime as needed.
