Manager, Leak Survey Operations
The purpose of this position is to execute the Leak Survey program for compliance with federal and multi-state pipeline safety rules in 11 state jurisdictions as well as both regulated and non-regulated storage field operations. This position operates in a shared services role. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance for leak survey activities on facilities including, but not limited to: inside meters, distribution systems, transmission pipelines, business districts, vertical main, and storage fields.
Accountable to ensure that leak survey data is updated and maintained in the appropriate system
Accountable for implementation of winter / frost cast iron leak surveys and/or special surveys (post incident, compliance assurance etc.)
Accountable to assist/troubleshoot system issues to facilitate contractor performance of leak survey duties
Accountable to administer compliance monitoring of leak survey records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures

Responsible for preparing supporting documentation and data necessary for Operations to prepare leak survey budgets for use of internal resources.

Supervisor Leak Survey
Establish and maintain centralized gas leak survey program for Eversource Energy. Responsible for coordination of contractors/employees performing leak survey of mains, services and meter set inspections to comply with Federal and State Regulations. Oversee Leak Survey/Inside Meter Set Inspection program including scheduling, tracking and reporting according to Eversource Work Practices/Gas Operating Procedures. Perform dual state (MA & CT) responsibilities within leak survey programs at Eversource. Execute other duties, as requested.
Establish and maintains centralized leak survey program for the entire State, according to the Gas Operating Procedures/Work Practices.
Schedule and monitor work and prepare reports on the status of the leak survey program, as requested/needed.
Work with Areas to inform and follow-up on needed leak repairs identified through the inspections in the leak survey program.
Ensures compliance with Federal DOT Leak Survey and Meter Inspection Regulations.
Recommends improvements to material, construction and operating standards related to Leak Management.
Provides specifications, inspections and estimates relative to leak repair and leak survey work.
Coordinates leak survey services in either state as requested.
Initiates work orders/job orders for the leaks located through leak surveys.
Work with the Mapping Dept. to acquire maps and update mapping for leak survey.
Review and approve invoices for contractor services for leak survey.
Set up and maintain electronic record keeping system for Leak Survey program
Provides on-the-job and classroom training for Company and contractor personnel in the areas of leak survey.

Leak Tester - 2Nd Shift
Eaton Power Systems is currently seeking a Welder/Leak Tester- 2nd shift to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha (Badger Drive) WI facility.
The Leak Tester is responsible for prepping tanks for leak testing, ensuring tanks are leak proof by pressure testing or by the use of Dye Penetrant, TIG repair on any weld leaks, applying required studs, ensure cleanliness of the inside of tanks, remove tanks from line or leak tester and palletize, and give final quality check.

You will plug tank orifices in preparation for leak testing.
You will operate hydraulic leak test machines.
You will pressurize tank, apply soap to locate leaks, and repair leaks with TIG weld.
You will apply required studs using electric stud welding gun, using process standards.
You will use crane to take tank off line or leak test machine and palletize.
You will ensure cleanliness of inside of tanks by sweeping down the inside of the front-plate, then using the vacuum to remove debris.
You will give finished tank an inspector to ensure tank meets customer visual requirements; i.e. weld spatter removed, loose dirt, weld quality/requirements, and ensure that part and feature locations match drawing requirements.
You will document all non-conformances through use of tracking system by completing Material Reject Tags.

Detects and classifies natural gas system leaks by using advanced technology, including scheduled and specially requested leakage surveys, using a variety of leak detection tools on both walking and mobile surveys. Performs leakage surveys on natural gas transmission and distribution systems using mobile and portable leak detection equipment.
Exercises judgment in properly classifying and grading leak indications as to the level of hazard.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for designing, engineering, and managing gas system construction projects, including complex gas delivery system projects. The position provides designs for service to new customers and expansion/upgrade of existing gas main and facilities. The position coordinates with internal groups and external agencies as part of providing service and installing new facilities. The position also provides operations support services including periodic on-call, contingency event support, and equipment damage/failure.
Plan, design, develop, implement, and manage gas delivery system projects in the company's gas work plan including new service projects, main extensions, main relays and relocations, and discrete installations such as regulator stations, bridge/highway, waterway crossings, and valve installations. In most instances, the position will perform the duties of both the design engineer and or project manager.
Provide quality designs that the construction group can utilize to build the specified facilities and that the mapping group can use to maintain the integrity of our maps and records.
Manage the securing of permits and licenses, and municipal/governmental requirements to complete designs and undertake the project.
Ensure that the technical requirements of the design are met including system pressure, flow, and operating requirements.
Assist in analyzing system pressure and operating parameters such as leak history.
Apply company construction and maintenance standards and federal, state, and industry codes to designs.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for the proposed work and secure approval for the project through required documentation.
Ensure that adequate construction records and documentation are obtained as part of the project and retained accordingly.
Provide periodic off-hours/on-call support for the engineering group as well as support during storms and system contingencies including support of the gas business in NH.
Participate in customer and municipal, regulatory, and government meetings as the Company's Gas Project Engineering Representative.
Support the engineering and operations groups through other duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with minimum of 5 years of experience in gas system design, project management, and operations support.
Registration as a Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Professional in NH is a plus.
Possess excellent written and oral communications skills. Motivated, self-starter with ability to work in a flexible and fast paced environment
Strong familiarity with work management systems software and Excel.
Experience in estimating gas project scope, costs, scheduling, and quality
Knowledge of gas system equipment, operations, and control systems
Knowledge of gas utility infrastructure maps, records, and documents.
Knowledge of gas construction standards and industry codes
Familiarity with good utility practice and business management including regulatory and compliance requirements.
