I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex duties of leading employees in the accomplishment of trades and labor work, I am skilled in the full range of journey mechanic work; which includes monitoring river and weather conditions for determining when to start and stop pumping based on local conditions; acting as working leader in the efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems at a Pumping Plant Location; Resolves problems with pump station equipment; and keeps up with the maintenance of building, grounds and equipment.
Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort:
Working with heavy machinery requires periods of tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods of time that includes frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing and crouching. Frequent standing and walking is also required while checking equipment. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing 40 to 40 pounds, and often uses similar efforts in pushing, turning, and positioning parts, assemblies, equipment and tools. Lifts and moves heavier times with assistance from others and lifting devices such as jacks and hoists. Works in confined spaces.
Working Conditions:
Works inside and outside of areas that are air-conditioned and non air-conditioned.

Summary
About the Position:
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing instructions to other workers the instructions received from supervisor; working with other workers and setting the example; ensuring any plans, materials, and tools are available as necessary.
Ensuring that safety and housekeeping rules are followed; reporting to higher authority on status and progress of work and any problems encountered; demonstrates proper work methods; and ensuring that work is accomplished.
Responsibility and authority for monitoring river and weather conditions for determining when to start and stop pumping based on local conditions.
You will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance to all systems that are utilized at the Graham Burke Pumping Station.
These systems are composed of various components of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
Systems include three 2,000 hp diesel engines, two diesel generators, three storm water pumps, electrically operated backflow gates, gear reducers, raw water cooling systems, electrical panels, gages, compressed air systems.
Also included are maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment, which includes tractors, lawnmowers, a 30 ton mobile crane and bulldozer.
