TO OPERATE MACHINES WITHIN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRODUCING QUALITY PARTS FOR CUSTOMERS
Keep machine and work area clean and organized
Understand and enter all quality data (SPC) and master all proess gauging
Read and interpret all documentation in department (chart print outs, Pre-Ops, standardized work, Control plan, gauging instructions)
Meet or exceed daily production schedule while maintaining quality
Enter maintenance work orders into the SAP system

Understand Primary Visual Display Boards

Peform first piece, final inspection and complete set up verification sheet for production runs. Measure parts with gaging equipment to determine if parts are within acceptable quality limits.
Read and interpret CMM printouts (Machine Centers Only). In H/T able to perform spline check and surface hardness check and measure phoshate coating thickness and appearance. In SBG able to interpret PNC and CMM printouts.
Master all process gages, in H/T hardness testers and in phoshate thickness gage and titrations.

Cnc Lathe Set Up Operator
Please Note that there are no relocations at this time for this role.
Under minimal supervision operates a CNC lathe to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts such as castings, forgings, and bar stock by performing the following duties. I have 2 Positions on Second Shift - this position is Temporary to Hire Only.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads process sheets, blueprints, work orders and sketches of part to determine machining to be done and operating requirements.
Inserts beginning point of tape in reading head of control unit.
Mounts work piece between centers, in chuck, or to faceplate.
Selects and installs preset tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads, and automatic tool change magazine, in sequence specified on process sheet.
Depresses buttons, toggles, or sets tape and starts machining operation.
Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
Turns dial and switches to override tape control and correct machine performance.
Inspects first run piece and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.
Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run during automatic tape controlled cycles to shorten changeover time.
Machines all types of metallic and nonmetallic materials.
Education and/or Experience:
Two years Technical or Trade School with appropriate certification; and five years related experience and/or training; or seven years equivalent combination of job-related education and experience.
Set Up Operator
The Set-up Operator title is an umbrella title that covers many specific job titles in the Set-up area. Ideally, under general supervision, each Set-up Operator should be trained and able to perform all of the subtitles under this umbrella title, which includes:
Layout Projection Operator, Letter Puller/Sorter, Pattern Puller, Pattern Tear Down, Polymer Machine Operator, Polymer Applicator, and Inspector. Please see specific functional job description for each of these positions for more specific information. As with all levels of production, employee works to assure accuracy and quality control.
