Laboratory Glass Washer
The Laboratory Glass Washer handles and cleans dirty laboratory glassware and performs the appropriate cleaning services required for each piece of glassware. This individual performs machine washing, handwashing, dry sterilizing, autoclaving, plugging and oven and air-drying of glassware. The Laboratory Glass Washer preforms the general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
Operates, loads, and unloads machines such as drying ovens, autoclaves, ethylene oxide gas sterilizers, and industrial washing machines and dryers.
Sorts and dispenses glassware to appropriate stations for cleansing.
Prepares and steam sterilizes surgical trays and gown packs, including ethylene oxide sterilization of specialized instruments and glassware.
Orders and maintains appropriate inventories of materials used in day-to-day glass washing operations.
Maintains appropriate records and/or documentation necessary for compliance with current regulatory guidelines.
Inspects and maintains various glass cleaning machines and equipment and assists in their maintenance and troubleshooting.
Inspects glassware to ensure pieces are clean and undamaged returning them in an uncontaminated condition to their respective labs.
Glass washing must result in minimal breakage.
Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

NOTE: The normal starting salary for this position is $20.24/hourly. A higher salary may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City's step placement policy.

This job is located in the Maintenance Services Division of the Oklahoma City Fire Department and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy/vacancies in the Fire Department. However, an eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies in the department, per provisions of the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. The primary purpose of this classification is to perform skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of various automobiles and trucks, including specialized firefighting vehicles and equipment. Employees of this classification must possess the required knowledge and skills prior to assuming the position. Essential job functions include: maintaining and repairing various types of automobiles, trucks, fire engines, fire trucks, fire pumps, hydraulic equipment, and other specialized, heavy equipment; diagnosing equipment malfunctions; estimating repair costs; writing service orders; providing specialized technical support and training to other maintenance and repair staff; and performing related duties as required and assigned. Glass Wash Technician - Cayey
Responsible for the daily cleaning, drying and autoclaving of all laboratory glassware and plasticware using the validated equipment such glass washer, dryers and/or sterilizers or manual processes. Supports the cleaning, sanitization and maintenance operations of the assigned building areas. Every job shall be execute following the applicable standard operating procedures or work instructions and must be capable of observe and notify any process abnormality.
Collect, clean and distribute laboratory glassware and plasticware using glass washer, dryers and sterilizers equipment following the established Standard Operating Procedure or Work Instructions.
When required, support the maintenance / facilities team in execution of some maintenance activities according to the appropriate SOP and using the approved equipment and chemicals.
Keep the glasswasher and sterilizer area cleaned or sanitized according to the defined maintenance schedule and documented as required by the standard operating procedure. Shall notify the supervisor of any risk or unsafe condition observed.
Maintain well organized and labeled at appropriate levels the cleaning materials or sanitization chemicals. All chemicals shall be use, storage and dispose as established or recommended in the material SDS and must comply with the applicable storage and marking / labeling regulation.
Document cleaning and areas maintenance log as required. Review as required the maintenance and cleaning forms as required.
Support any other areas or plant utilities in field or administrative activities as requested by the Facilities leader.
Track inventory and conditions of the glass or plastic ware, filling tubing, janitorial materials and areas sanitizer and notify to process its purchase when necessary.
Comply with the day to day paperwork or documentation requirements as part of the assigned jobs or area Standard Operating Procedure or Work Instruction.

Fire Apparatus Technician II

The FAT I/II will also inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering systems and ignition systems on numerous types of fire apparatus heavy equipment, and will be responsible for rebuilding components and performing component exchanges as needed. The most competitive candidates will possess broad experience performing repairs on a variety of fire apparatus heavy equipment, and will have familiarity utilizing an electronic fleet management system. The Department desires candidates with experience performing welding, as well as those that have strong experience functioning in a lead or supervisory capacity in a comparable diesel maintenance field. This position will work a 5/40 schedule and will operate out of Fire Headquarters located in Perris.
The level at which the position will be filled is at the Department's discretion and based on candidate qualifications.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Fire Apparatus Technician I
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures and defects in fire apparatus and other equipment.
Adjust, repair, replace, or overhaul a variety of diesel and automotive engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, transfer cases, hydraulic brake systems, axles, pumps, injectors, carburetors, final drives, sprockets, rollers, and truck and steering systems.
Maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical defects, repairing or replacing starting motors, generators, and ignition systems; repair and overhaul fire suppression components and related equipment.
Perform complete fabricating and repairing to repair, alter, or maintain Fire Department equipment and trucks; perform complete routine maintenance including oil changes and lubrication services; perform CHP 90-day compliance inspections and fire pump tests.
Complete time and material records.
Fire Apparatus Technician II
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures and defects in fire apparatus and other equipment in field conditions; diagnose, repair, and overhaul fire suppression and related equipment.
Mentor and train Fire Apparatus Technicians I in the repair and overhaul of a variety of diesel and heavy duty gasoline engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, brake systems, carburetors, fire suppression equipment, and related components.
Perform welding to repair, alter or maintain equipment.
Perform complete routine maintenance including oil changes and lubrication services; perform complete CHP 90 day compliance inspections and fire pump tests.
Require performing maintenance, alteration and repair of automotive equipment as needed.
Completes time and material records.
RECRUITING GUIDELINES: Fire Apparatus Technician I
Experience: Completion of an accredited heavy equipment mechanic apprenticeship-training program or successful completion of the California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc. Fire Mechanic I (Fire Pumps and Accessories) course of instruction. One year of successful experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Riverside County, or an equivalent class in another jurisdiction may substitute for mechanic apprenticeship or Fire Mechanic I certification.
Knowledge of: Principles of gasoline and diesel engines; heavy equipment maintenance and repair; methods, tools, equipment, and parts used in the repair and maintenance of construction equipment; operation and application of mechanical diagnostic equipment.
Ability to: Perform repair and maintenance work on heavy equipment; diagnose and repair mechanical defects in a variety of heavy-duty gasoline and diesel construction equipment in both the field and shop; operate equipment used in repairing or servicing construction equipment; read and understand shop manuals and mechanical diagrams; follow written and oral directions; perform work safely; work with minimal supervision.
Fire Apparatus Technician II
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience as a Fire Apparatus Technician I with the Riverside County Fire Department or an equivalent class in another jurisdiction.
Knowledge of: Principles of gasoline and diesel engines; Fire apparatus maintenance and repair; Methods, tools, equipment, and parts used in the repair and maintenance of this equipment; Operation and application of mechanical diagnostic equipment.
Ability to: Mentor the work of others; Issue, follow, and understand verbal and written communications; Read and understand shop manuals and mechanical diagrams; Diagnose and repair mechanical defects in a variety of heavy duty gasoline and diesel Fire Department equipment in both field and shop; Operate equipment used in repairing and servicing this equipment; Prepare and maintain records and reports.
