The Flat Rate Technician diagnoses and performs repairs on all vehicle components with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards.

Manufacturing capability understood to meet specifications
Support PE group activities such as product transparency evaluations, tank qualifications, attribute road mapping, and our stretch performance programs
Work with Account Manager, AE, Research/Development and Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, PLM, and Performance/Reliability groups to execute on PE responsibilities
Ability to understand details of customer processes and equipment, clarify customer' requirements and translate them into product attributes and specifications
Ability to build strong customer relationships, so detailed technical information is obtained
Ability to plan, execute, and communicate results for joint experiment with customer
Ability to identify and prioritize product improvement areas
Ability to communicate by e-mail and phone as internal communications will be across countries and cultures
Solid understanding of Corning processes (melting, forming, finishing, inspection)
Communication, presentation, and influencing skills
Strong data and statistical skills
Positive attitude and independent worker with initiative
Soft skills: working in matrix organization, working through ambiguity

Education & Experience
Bachelor's in science or engineering (chemical or materials science degree preferred)
Experience in product specification, quality architecture, process improvement projects
Work experience with manufacturing teams and contract manufacturers
Experience with risk and statistical analysis
On current position for 2 years or more
Have received at least 3 "Fully Met Expectation" rating on their last performance appraisal
Able to travel up to 25%
