Ensures quality control requirements are understood and met by reviewing all special instructions and requirements.
Documents items by performing required Statistical Process Control; quality checks/tests; lot number requirements; shipping label requirements.
Resolves production problems by; notifying set up personnel for assistance; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources; if necessary, discontinue manufacturing operations until the problem is resolved.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment of complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Documents production information into appropriate reporting system.
Promotes teamwork and effective working relationships among all contacts by setting positive examples.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Tender Quality Manager
To ensure and improve the quality of the offers in the upstream phases of the tender process.
Participate on the tender Launch Workshop (TLW):
1.Ensure that the TLW is planned and performed at the appropriate phase of the Tender.
2.Provide Return on Experience regarding the Project Industrial Organization (PIO) defined.
3.Provide Return on Experience regarding the list of suppliers identified.
Participate on the tender Design Review (TDR):
1.Ensure that the TDR is planned and performed at the appropriate phase of the tender.
2.Ensure that technical gaps identified during the review are followed and treated before submission. Including robust mitigation plan and risk assessment.
Participate on the Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance (QCDP) Review:
1.Ensure that the QCDP is planned and performed at the appropriate phase of the tender.
2.Ensure Tender checklist (TEN-FRM-023) is initiated as earliest as possible in the tender process.
3.Perform QCDP readiness review with Bid Manager to evaluate Tender maturity, according to the Tender Checklist, before the QCDP meeting takes place.
4.Ensure open actions are robust with PIC and Due Date assigned.
- Follow up of actions identified.
1.Review the complete RFP provided by the customer to well understand the customer requirements.
2.Develop all Quality deliverables requested by the Tender. (Quality Plan, Control plan, Certifications, etc...)
3.Assess maturity of deliverables provided by the Tender Team and make recommendations for improvement.
4.Work with Quality Management team to estimate and calculate workload and establish all direct and indirect costs for quality scope in the execution of the project.

Understanding standard operating procedures of the department
Coordinate plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hang paper according to job tickets
Set up and make splices, bend and hang plates as well as hang blankets and assist with webbing up press
Ensure correct ink is available for job and check ink fountains regularly
Set fold during make-readies and check trim sheets to proof and complete necessary roll reports and paperwork accurately
Communicate effectively with plate room and paper warehouse and coordinate changing of ink, etch, and silicone totes as needed
Wash up the press and assist with preventative maintenance.
Candidates must have prior press experience as Press Assistant II (Jogger) with Press Assistant I (Rolltender) training hours completed.
Strong mechanical abilities and knowledge of presses and roll stands and the ability to perform basic math calculations are essential.
Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must.
Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform somewhat diversified duties to dewax and cure molds following established methods and procedures.
Work from casting schedules and / or instructions to obtain molds from storage, move to ovens and load. Use fork lift and Taurus as necessary.
Start ovens, pumps, compressors and blowers.
Set and control temperatures for melt-out and curing cycles required. Maintain continuing check on oven temperatures and other requirements to assure compliance with time-temperature cycles and cooling routines as specified for the various mold and investment types.
Assist in unloading ovens and in other duties related to pouring operations in all areas such as positioning molds, removing molds after pouring, moving molds to cooling area. Exercise care in handling molds to avoid damage.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to supervisor.

The National Synchrotron Light Source-II at Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking exceptional candidates for the lead beamline scientist position for the Tender Energy X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (TES) beamline (8-BM). As part of the Microscopy and Imaging Program at NSLS-II, the TES beamline is currently being developed to deliver world-leading spectroscopy and microscopy capability at the photon energies between 1 and 8 keV.
The scientific emphasis of the TES beamline is to provide the spatially resolved x-ray spectroscopy capability for wide range of material systems, optimized for the "tender" energies particularly in the 1 to 3 keV range, which is difficult to access by typical soft x-ray or hard x-ray beamlines. Spatially resolved XAS or spectromicroscopy, sensitive to low Z elements (particularly from Mg to Ti) finds broad range of applications in investigating energy storage/conversion, catalysis, biological/environmental systems, and more.
Taking a role of a TES lead beamline scientist, the selected candidate will work closely with a group of scientific and engineering staff to operate and improve the beamline. The candidate will be responsible for setting up budget and resource priorities for beamline operation. The successful candidate is encouraged to collaborate with members of the Imaging and Microscopy Program (IMP) and develop an independent science program that intersects with TES capabilities and takes advantage of the unique capabilities across other NSLS-II beamlines.
Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, or related field
At least 3 years of experience working with synchrotron-based X-ray techniques
Strong publication record in synchrotron-based research
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact effectively in a team environment with a diverse group of scientists, engineers, technical staff, and users.
Prior experience in commissioning and/or operation of a synchrotron radiation beamline
At least 5 years prior experience (beyond the Ph.D. degree) in synchrotron-based spectroscopy and/or imaging.
Hands-on experience in instrumentation or x-ray techniques at tender energy range.
Hands-on experience with X-ray optics, Micro-focusing KBs, X-ray detectors, and/or relevant instrumentation.
Demonstrated knowledge of EPICS and EPICS-based data acquisition.
Demonstrated experience in Python
Demonstrated success supervising or leading scientific or technical groups or projects.

Ball's Kapolei, Hawaii, plant operates high-speed manufacturing lines that can produce more than 1.5 million infinitely recyclable beverage cans per day. The plant is located 30 miles west of downtown Honolulu and employs many dedicated and talented team members. The Kapolei plant opened in 1979 and was acquired by Ball Corporation in 1998.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.
Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
Operates forklift during routine performance of duties.
Unloads, receives, inspects, and stages raw materials, scrap, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
Removes finished products from the production areas ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications.
Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas.
Reviews warehouse production planning schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.
Ensures finished goods are properly documented for shipment.
Stages and loads finished goods and materials in accordance with warehouse and production planning schedule.
Coordinates all processed scrap materials at bins and hoppers. Bands and stores materials. Loads trucks as necessary.
Conducts inspection of and routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Conducts inspection of materials used for packaging and inspects trailers and air bags.
Communicates to management any machine malfunctions.
Performs record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
Performs duties as required to insure compliance with the plant's quality standards.
Stages and maintains packaging materials and follows correct packaging/banding procedures.
Conducts inspection of in-process or finished product.
Performs clean-up, painting and housekeeping duties.
Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
Required to work assigned schedule or 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday), this job may include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday), working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
Ability to learn to identify product defects.
Ability to pass an approved forklift test.
High school education preferred
Ability to use small hand tools
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Exposure to machinery or production work preferred
