DWD is the agency charged with administering the federal unemployment insurance benefits program. The United States Department of Labor requires DWD to meet many federal performance metrics in order to keep its federal funding for administration of that program. The Quality, Policy, Integrity, and Training Division of the UI Program is responsible for ensuring that the agency is meeting those performance metrics, for assisting employees in meeting quality metrics, for troubleshooting issues that arise in the UI system, for issuing policies and instructions to address changes in federal or state law, and for ensuring internal and external integrity of the UI system through monitoring, fraud prevention, and spearheading projects to improve integrity and quality work. Performs work requiring a working knowledge of the welding properties of various types of metals, welding rods, welding heats, stress relief, allowance for fit-up and machining, and the effect of shrinkage, warpage, and expansion.
Performs welding on pipes that must withstand high pressure.
Exercises all safety precautions, and makes provisions for handling materials and equipment to and from job site.
Works in shop and field.
Observes good housekeeping and safety on job site, maintenance shop, or plant property.
