Description: Maintains and ensures proper grease type and levels for bearings in accordance with the Association of American Railroads and customer specifications. Operates grease machine as directed through written and oral instruction. Reports any defects or machinery malfunctions to the supervisor.
May also be required to clean the grease machine, sweep the floor, and transport stock. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or company management. Overall Purpose:
Greases moving parts of friction surfaces of mechanical equipment, such as bearing, according to specified procedures and oral instructions. Essential Functions: 1. Connect grease containers, such as grease pump, or tank of lubrication drum with specified lubricants. 2.
Turns valves to regulate flow of grease to moving parts. 3. Operate Grease Machines in accordance to written and oral instructions. 4. Correct use of Seal Clearance Gauge and Stack Height Gauge. 5.
Read and understand the customer specifications. 6. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. 7. May clean machines, sweep floors and transport stock.
Physical Demands & Frequency: Requires heavy lifting, reaching, manual dexterity and depth perception. A. Position: Standing.
B. Weights & Force: 65 - 125 pounds. C. Use of Controls: Operates in-line grease machines as well as double lubricator and double seal press.
D. Flipping of Bearing for Grease Application. General Educational Development: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

· Operating equipment in the plant
· Driving a forklift

Skills and Qualifications

· Forklift experience is an asset

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to
Plan and execute global R&D programs to formulate lubricant products that meet the needs of the Global Lubricants business. Includes determining the target customer and identifying equipment manufacturers’ and industry requirements. Requires managing programs that are well defined and planned with stage-gates, timing and budget control.
Work with additive manufacturers and leverage their technical resources to develop new products, maintain existing products and optimize cost and performance of those products. Lead experiments to approve new base oil and additive suppliers for specific (global) Grease product lines
Oversee the preparation of bench-scale and pilot-scale grease samples in the Chevron grease laboratory and pilot plant.
Effectively collaborate with industry specialists and customers on the design and implementation of field tests in commercial equipment.
Work with regional and global Product Technical Support, Manufacturing and Laboratory Support, and Marketing, Brand and Sales organizations to provide technical guidance, training programs and customer support. Maintain OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technical relationships.
Work with proprietary and contract manufacturing plants to resolve production issues and to help identify and implement process improvements.
Implement regional product line and complexity-reduction strategies.
As a functional expert, represent Chevron at industry technical meetings, including ASTM International, NLGI and others. Anticipate future Grease needs and define strategic research programs where appropriate and align with our Grease strategy
Share best practices, technical trends, program results and conclusions internally to Marketing and externally to customers and industrial equipment manufacturers. Communicate with regional and global Product Line Managers and regional colleagues to ensure global alignment and sharing of data.
Ensure that all work activities comply with Operational Excellence efforts including internal Chevron Loss Prevention Systems.
- Minimum of Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or Master of Science degree in Chemistry is required.
+ 5+ years of Grease, Grease industry, lubricants industry, oil additives industry and/or formulation experience is highly desired.
Work experience with equipment operation, design, or maintenance is highly desired.
Work experience with grease manufacturing plant processes is highly desired.
Experience with tribology, fundamentals of lubrication, and chemistry is desired.

Kiln Operators are charged with maintaining full operation of a tunnel kiln. The main job tasks of this position include, but are not limited to the following.
- Unload 8 kiln cars per 8 hour shift by dumping ceramic insulators from saggers (trays used to contain ceramics) into boxes.
- Weigh boxes of ceramic insulators on a scale to the correct quantity.
- Pack boxes of ceramics with paper, close and seal boxes with tape and label the boxes with correct product information.
- Load empty kiln cars with saggers full of green ware (unfired clay insulator).
- Operate hydraulic pusher controls.
- Record times and temperatures from each car cycled on to the pusher.
- Complete side work (i.e. make boxes, keep area swept and clean, grease kiln car wheels, empty sand traps and fill sand seal hopper).
Construction Equipment Operator
- Safely and proficiently operate and maintain various pieces of construction equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment operated. Grease and clean out cab assigned equipment daily. Fill out hour and maintenance reports. Perform small repairs and report major repairs and damage of equipment to management.
