Summary:
Sets up and operates grinding equipment, including but not limited to, Thru feed grinders, Blohm grinders, Conversion grinders, Magerle flat dies, Magerle veri-lite, Point grinders, Centerless grinders, cylindrical dies, Normac grinders and Studer grinders and any other type of grinder for production and experimental work orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with Fanuc and Siemens Controls on CNC Grinders, lathes and Mills;
Sets up and runs multiple machines such as CNC and conventional grinders lathes and Mills;
Plans the set-up and sequence of operations on special and assigned grinding work by studying work orders, part prints, engineering drawings or other instructions;
Sets up and operates squaring dies, buffing dies and chamfer dies, following set up procedures, including through-feed and in-feed grinding machines; using proper blades, profile templates and appropriate die mounds for jobs;
Check dimensions, finish, material and nature of part to determine feed and speed and other set-up information to hold specified tolerances and obtain required finish;
Make complete set-up of all grinders by selecting and mounting suitable type, size and grade of grinding wheel, holding fixtures and attachments;
Positions, aligns, and secures parts, using any type of holding fixture that may be required;
Make machine adjustments, dress, true and shape grinding wheels as required;
Changes wheels, and dresses wheels to prescribed forms; straight grinding or profiled grinding;
Check parts for finish and dimension with use of precision measuring instruments;
Make such minor repairs as may be required in set-up and operations;
May set-up machines for operation by others.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
3 years of experience with CNC's and Grinders in a machine shop environment;
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Setups and operates centerless and side grinders, and vision inspection systems.
Performs visual and dimensional inspection at the grinding operation and utilizes any other measuring equipment as needed.
Reads routers, and production schedules for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerance, and number of parts to be processed and when.
Read special instructions as required. Records information for inspection and production using various forms, logs and computer systems.
Monitors product for product specifications using but not limited to the following types of inspection equipment, air gages, refractometer, micrometer, surface finish testers, digital indicators, scales, and visual aids.
Verifies equipment including but not limited to proper settings, feeds and speeds, temperatures, cycle times, pressure settings, air settings, switches, valve adjustments, feeds and speeds are in conformance to specification by using established standards.
Utilizes statistical data to determine conforming product. Analyzes and monitors scrap and nonconforming parts to aid in determining cause of failure.
Ability to start, shut down, setup and operate centerless and side grinders, vibro,cob dryers and inspection equipment.
Operates overhead hoists, and hand jacks. Loads and unloads various types of containers, which in include but are not limited to pans, bins, baskets and trays. Ability to drive forklifts and achieves certification to drive forklift.
Changes worn grinding wheels, mounts wheel on spindle, adjust blade height and angles as required, and dresses grinding wheels to specification.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow all safety rules and regulation while perform operations.
Troubleshoots and performs appropriate maintenance of the equipment by observation and general cleaning.
Over time is required as posted weekly, and may be mandated for this position.
Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Grinder 2Nd Shift
Position Purpose: To perform duties of rough grinding process or the finish grinding process of rods which may include troubleshooting, set up and general maintenance of machine.
Summary of Primary Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for a variety of straightforward, routine duties in the assigned department or work area related to the manufacture and assembly of product. The incumbent participates in the company's quality initiatives including, but not limited to: TS/ISO certification and maintenance of quality systems in place. The incumbent participates in the company's safety programs by ensuring a safe and clean working environment, timely reporting of any safety violations, timely reporting of any workplace incidents or injuries, and effective housekeeping.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Removes raw rods from the screw machine and places into auto-feed hopper.
Sends ground rods to the plater or the production line, per work order specifications.
Performs routine quality checks on rods using test equipment ensuring minimal defects
Prepares SPC charts and other production records as needed
Maintains equipment
Operator will train on operating all the equipment on the rod grinding line. Will also train on the Thielenhaus and Surfina superfinishers. May need to move between the grinding and finishing machines as production requirements dictate.

Physical Requirements:
Lifting, carrying, pushing items up to 50 #s; standard levels of concentration; must concentrate on instruments, control panels, etc.; must react to rapid change. This position is responsible for setting up and operating equipment that grinds ingredients used in the manufacturing of food products while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks
Applicants will be considered for any general production opening. These openings require standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, bending, stretching, reaching, working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions. Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high pressure hose. Must be able to read and complete required logs.
Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. May be required to operate frontend loader or forklift and will be required to obtain certification to do so. BAE Systems York PA Site is seeking a Tool Grinder on 2nd shift.
The Tool Grinder sets up and operates various types of machines on the manufacturing floor of the BAE Systems York, PA site. Performs all types of grinding, honing and pre-set work to sharpen or repair all types of metal removal tooling for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Job Duties
Receives instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, Lead Person or Self-Directed Work Team.
Handles material to and from work area using jib or overhead cranes or other material handling equipment (such as electric or manual hand truck) as required.
Interprets prints and sketches. Plans and determines work procedures for obtaining dimensions and finishes requiring close tolerances.
Sets up and operates any type of machine tool common to the trade, adjusting stops, feeds, speeds, and indexing or tapering attachments. Uses precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy of perishable tools required.
Build, assemble and repair cutting tools, utilizing holders, collets and related componentry or hardware.

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team.
The CNC Machinist will have responsibility for the setup and operation of miscellaneous computerized numerical control (CNC) and/or manual machines. This includes primarily CNC grinders as well as mills, lathes, drills, grinders, hone, lap, deburr, etc. The Machinist will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs as appropriate.
Additionally, the CNC Machinist will:
1.Set-up and operation of miscellaneous computerized numerical control (CNC) and/or manual machines, including grinders, mills, lathes, drills, grinders, hone, lap, deburr, etc.
2.Machine and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
3.Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
4.Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.
5.Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
6.Provide input and recommendations for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and manual machine cutting tools to ensure they are consistent with type and size of material being machined.
7.Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
8.Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
9.Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
10. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
11. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
12. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell.
13. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
High School or GED and a minimum of 2 years of machining experience. Reads, understands and correctly interprets blueprints, planning and manufacturing specifications.
Demonstrated working knowledge of machining and/or testing related mathematical concepts. Has basic knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques. Rough burrs machined parts. May train, provide guidance and assist in developing lower skill level team members.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
(Note - must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.

2.Ability to use all gages and gaging methods in the department working to .001 tolerances.
3.Assures high quality tooling is made to specifications.

4.Maintains required quality levels and does not exceed scrap or discrepant material limitations.
