Day to Day Responsibilities:
Plan, program, set up and EDM complex cutting tools, small production, fixtures, gages and jigs without assistance and minimal supervision to improve quality and efficiency to support various production areas.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings and sketches.
Utilize various precision measuring instruments and techniques to measure work pieces.
Provide and adapt various complex cutting tooling and fixtures to complete machining assignments for various production and support areas.
Program, set up and run customer tools as required for low volume production run items.
Set up and operate manual O.D. grinders and surface grinders.
Record labor hours and assignments on log.
Maintain equipment; clean and lubricated.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and problem solve or revise the original designs of complex and intricate types of jigs, fixtures and machines and tooling problems as required.
Communicate and interface with various departments on ideas, and process improvements.
Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices on equipment and work area.

The primary responsibility of a tool-room grinder / operator is to maintain/ grind punches quality parts to blue prints specification or verbally utilizing the resources available within the department to meet tool-room tolerances. Candidate will work both independently and as a team and must demonstrate skills in accuracy and detail.
Maintain spare sharpened die section, punches, faceplates, slitters and cutoffs
Setup and operate manual and automatic grinders in an efficient and safe manner
Setup and grind parts to print on surface grinders
Check the quality of each part produced

Minor maintenance of wet and dry grinders (filling grinders with oil and adding coolant)
Maintain a clean work place and clean machines after use
Knowledge in use of all Machine Tools, and Measuring Instruments.

Stamping die experience preferred.

Sets up and operates a variety of precision grinding machines to perform quantity production grinding to close tolerances where grinding methods and sequences are predetermined and established tooling provided.
Performs operations such as grinding compound angles, internal and external spherical radii, threads, contours, and long exact tapers on products, parts, and assemblies or tools.
Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized attachments and standard tooling; interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; dresses, trues, and shapes grinding wheels; uses a variety of precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for grinding.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

This position is responsible for performing maintenance on and operating vacuum furnaces for sintering of fiber metal/porous-coated product, setup and operation of CNC equipment, performing the Porocyl mixing operation, bead/grit blasting, using a variety of hand tools for finishing operations, operating in-cell cleaning and pickling equipment, operating various sizes of hydraulic presses, and performing in-line quality checks for all products flowing through the department. >>3rd shift
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC equipment and provide bench support for porous processing operations.
Program system controllers, fabricate load thermocouples, and build funace loads of product and perform set-ups on CNC equipment.
Support the cellular work area by performing cellular functions as needed to maintain production schedules.
Complete appropriate paperwork, analyze data, and keep detailed furnace cycle records.
Performs non-destructive testing (NDT) and other inspection processes as necessary to insure product is free of defects
Train employees in operation of all core functions of the cell.
Fill out material requisitions and traceability tickets.
Maintain accurate and legible records and inventory counts.
Communicate between shifts and functional areas regarding product flow, quality issues, and potential process improvements.
