BAE Systems York PA Site is seeking a Tool Grinder on 2nd shift.
The Tool Grinder sets up and operates various types of machines on the manufacturing floor of the BAE Systems York, PA site. Performs all types of grinding, honing and pre-set work to sharpen or repair all types of metal removal tooling for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Job Duties
Receives instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, Lead Person or Self-Directed Work Team.
Handles material to and from work area using jib or overhead cranes or other material handling equipment (such as electric or manual hand truck) as required.
Interprets prints and sketches. Plans and determines work procedures for obtaining dimensions and finishes requiring close tolerances.
Sets up and operates any type of machine tool common to the trade, adjusting stops, feeds, speeds, and indexing or tapering attachments. Uses precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy of perishable tools required.
Build, assemble and repair cutting tools, utilizing holders, collets and related componentry or hardware.
Ensures process and workmanship (i.e. preset, certify) and documents findings on a personal computer or other data acquisition devices as required. Uses personal computer or other data acquisition devices as required.
Keep work area safe and clean.

Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Tool and Gear Development will handle the monitoring and maintenance of technical aspects of the gear generation process, looking at a variety of metrics gathered throughout the process. They will analyze efficiency data and process flow. This person works with the Manager to ensure standards for gear generation are maintained, as well as in developing new methods and implementing new product processes.
Responsibilities:
Development of tooling systems with emphasis on gear generation both pre and post heat treat with the focus on continuous improvement related to quality and throughput capability of the production equipment.
Development of supporting process documentation for gear generating equipment set-up, inspection, and changeover.
Work with supplier and plant support communities in the development of sharpening and coating services for gear cutting and broach tools.
Ability to evaluate and provide recommendation to correct gear form errors using analytical inspection tools.
Lead or participate in the development of new or advanced gear generating practices.
Lead or participate in the development of production and analytical measurement standards for existing and future products.
Provide support to the quality organizations with the evaluation of master gears and gear inspection equipment calibration.
Provide appropriate assistance in major Capital Appropriations Projects as required.
Provide technical support to Plant operations, domestic and international.
Provides a physical presence in the workplace.
Experience:

- Machine parts which have multiple features.
- Operate a variety of machine types or multiple non-complex machines at a time.
- Maintain an existing process which would include but not limited to: offset machine tools, change tooling as required, load material.

Set Up Operator A 2Nd Shift
SUMMARY
Perform a wide variety of set-up duties to install, maintain and troubleshoot injection/ blow mold machinery to ensure the quality manufacture of new, existing and custom molded products.
What You'll Do:
Install molds; set up the machine pressures, process temperatures, mold heaters, cooling lines, thermolator lines, cycle times, materials, set up chutes, conveyors, fixtures and cooling jigs.
Maintain molds in the injection/blow mold departments including cleaning, assembling, sandblasting, and greasing under the direction of the IM Tooling Coordinators.
Sort, count, and inspect parts as necessary to maintain quality and quantity standards within department specifications.
Run prototype parts of new and custom molded products until the product and procedures are approved for manufacturing.
Troubleshoot machine processes; adjust pressures, heat, and air; replace nuts and bolts, airlines, water lines, and checks barrel heats. Responsible for contacting Maintenance (IMC or Facility) with machine breakdowns and issues.
Oversee the quality of all the products produced in blow mold/injection molding. Measure, weigh and perform final inspection for all products using blueprints, scales, calipers and height gauges.
Maintain Kanban system as necessary to ensure proper function
Maintain established quality and quantity standards. Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Maintain daily production and other records as required.
Perform other related duties as required or directed
