3Rd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist
Penske Racing is looking for a 3rdShift CNC lathe Machinist to produce machined parts by programming, setting up,and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining qualityand safety standards; keeping written and electronic records (i.e. set upsheets and program backups); maintaining equipment and supplies.
Plans machining by studying work schedules, engineering plans (drawings), materials, specifications, locations and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Programs mills and/or lathes by entering instructions via manual machine input and conversational programming methods
Perform setup operations including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and proving part programs.
Manufacture parts with CNC machines by (1) using industry standard CNC machining techniques and practices, such as drilling, grooving and cutting, facing, profiling, pocketing, turning, knurling, and threading, (2) taking measurements using precision measuring tools, (3) detecting malfunctions, (4) troubleshooting processes, (5) adjusting and reprogramming controls, (6) replacing worn tools, and (7) adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains and updates manufacturing information. Ensures setup sheets and CNC programs are updated and stored for future use as per Company directive.
Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions and standards set forth by Penske Racing. When necessary, repair machines and equipment and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

3-5 years CNC programming and setup experience required.
Experience on Mazak multi axis live tooling lathes preferred.
High School diploma or GED is required. Vocational school, technical college or community college training, or Journeyman certification in CNC machining or similar course study is a plus.
Mazatrol programming knowledge preferred, other conversational and G code programming knowledge accepted.
Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with above average understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.

Participate on the tender Launch Workshop (TLW):

Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes or tears and cuts away damaged area with knife.
Roll paper into loading position on automatic splicer, insert shaft of automatic splicer through roll core, secure holding chucks of automatic splicer to shaft ends, and thread paper through press components to prepare press for printing.

The Boiler Operator operates, maintains, and repairs boilers and large tonnage chillers, in accordance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) and Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements. The operator fires boilers and stops and starts high pressure boilers, large tonnage chillers, and large HP air compressors. (i.e. 25hp and above). The operator observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation.
The operator adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for steam or high temperature water, in accordance with AFI and PWS. The operator maintains boiler operation log; cleans, oils, and makes minor repairs to boiler room equipment; and following prescribed methods, treats boiler water with chemicals and analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, causticity, and alkalinity.

Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identify and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution.

Ability to read, understand and interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, verbal and written instructions
Responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.
Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
Follows furnished information directives; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Policies and Procedures, and contract requirements.
Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, & Professional Association)
Must obtain an Illinois State Class II Boiler License within 60 days of hire date, based on previous experience.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience operating boilers up to 1600 hp.
Ability to use: technical manuals, technical bulletins or manufacturer's specifications.
The ability to accurately read: measuring devices, testing equipment and or instruments.
Must be available to work other shifts as directed, to include week-ends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record and proof of valid insurance.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.
Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.
Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.
Five (5+) years' experience operating boilers up to 1600 hp.
Previous experience working on a military installation.
Experience working on facilities.
Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
