Our dolphin tours run during the late morning and afternoon. Sunset tours are in the evening.

Description Kantishna Roadhouse (KRH) is a full-service, backcountry lodge located 90 miles into the pristine natural wonder of Denali National Park in a remote area where few are lucky enough to travel. Employees at the Roadhouse will find adventure, tranquility and an escape from every-day modern life. The season at Kantishna Roadhouse is from June 4th- September 12th and KRH is seeking candidates willing to stay the entire season. JOB SUMMARY: The Naturalist Guide staff is responsible for providing safe and educational guided hiking and other interpretive experiences and activities for guests at Kantishna Roadhouse (KRH). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Exercise good judgment as to trail conditions, weather, large animal behavior and the physical limitations of individual guests when leading and/or assisting guests on hikes and in other activities.
Facilitate in-camp activities for guests with the highest level of professionalism and respect; communicating times and locations of all lodge activities and events to guests.
Responsible for the general maintenance, cleaning and repair of all guest equipment to include bicycles, fishing gear, rain gear, waders, boots, etc. to ensure all equipment is safe and functional.
Use interpretive techniques to facilitate guests learning about Alaska and Denali’s unique heritage, and to appreciate the complexities of all ecosystems.
Provide formal and informal educational programs involving various aspects of Alaska and Denali National Park. Each Naturalist Guide is required to create an evening program for the guests and present that program on a regular basis.
Uphold National Park Service rules and regulations concerning the KRH concessions permit (training is provided).
Safely transport guests in vans on the Denali Park Road to and from the trail heads, the Fannie Quigley Cabin, and on some occasions, to and from the Park Entrance.
Responsible for doing a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vans to include checking oil and other fluids, tire pressure and condition, etc.; and reporting any necessary maintenance to the Facilities Manager for immediate attention.
Responsible for cleaning (inside and out) of the KRH vans; and for the cleaning (inside and out) of the buses.
Move guest luggage to and from the bus.
Grounds and greenhouse maintenance as assigned.
Knowledge base should include, but is not limited to:
North American wildlife biology
North American plant identification
North American bird and bird song identification
Alaska history: early humans, today’s native peoples, subsistence, the economy, the Alaska Native Land Claims Settlement Act, and Doyon Limited Native Corporation
Denali National Park History: including the establishment of the National Park Service
Knowledge and experience in the use of maps and compass
Knowledge of Leave No Trace principles appropriate to the sub-arctic.

We are seeking qualified candidates for our Reading Guide positions at our school sites in Redwood City. Each BookNook school site will have a team of Reading Guides working with elementary students.
The Reading Guides will work directly with students, meeting regularly with them and using our tablet-based curriculum to help children overcome their personal hurdles. Tutoring occurs Monday
Friday, from 8:30am
6pm (depending on the school site). Reading Guides must commit to working at least 6 hours/week. RESPONSIBILITIES Reading Guides need to: • Make a minimum commitment to work at least 10 hours/week from September through June.

The Tour Guide's major responsibility is to conduct four to six guided tours each day for groups of 45 people. You will gather groups together in the atrium, take them up the world’s tallest escalator (look it up!) and then clearly and professionally share the CNN Studio Tours Script. Our tour participants ask great questions and lots of them so you’ll need to think on your feet to provide accurate answers to all of them.
While not on the tour, a guide will assist with selling tickets at the box office, taking phone-in reservations, assist with Prime Time Events, our corporate event business, specialprojectsand other administrative duties.
The CNN Studio Tour is open weekends and holidays except for Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Guides are expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the schedule. What do we need from you?
You must have a four-year college degree required in a related field such as Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism and experience in a customer-service-oriented industry.
This is a speaking job so you having public speaking experience, even from college, is pretty important. It would be great if you had other experience with giving tours or in the travel/tourism industry, marketing, PR or news experience but it’s not required.
If you speak other languages, that is a plus! + Soft skills are important in this job! The CNN Studio Tours Guide is often the only interaction that the public has with a CNN employee, so that first impression is important. A successful tour guide is friendly and approachable, good under pressure and should always appear professional and polished.
