Animal Exhibit Educator/Explorer Guide

Educate, inspire and entertain our Guests at the animal exhibits. Answer Guest questions about the animals, conservation, park events, rides and general park information while ensuring guest and animal safety. This is a great position for individuals looking to work in a fun, engaging atmosphere or individuals interested in the animal care field (Note- this position does not work hands on with animals).
Interact and engage with park guests about our animals, their care and conservation measures.
Learn, interpret and present animal information to our guests both on and off microphone.
Serve as a safety ambassador for guests and animals at all exhibits while enforcing park policies.
Communicate any hazards that pose a risk to the animals to management immediately.
Maintain cleanliness of areas surrounding animal exhibits including but not limited to: sweeping, cleaning windows, and picking up debris.

The Adventure Ridge Kid's Snowmobiles operate on a closed track with specially designed mini snowmobiles that run approximately six miles an hour around Blizzard Speedway. Riders travel at their preferred pace.
Forest Flyer™ Mountain Coaster
The Forest Flyer™ winds its way 3,400 feet down the mountain, following the natural contours of the landscape through the forest. Participants control their speed with the manual brakes.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Campus Recreation and the guidance of the ODS director, this position will develop, execute, and evaluate outdoor outings open to the UAS student body. These outings will vary from day hikes to multi-night cabin trips off the Juneau road system. Pay can take the form of hourly, program credit hours, or a combination of the two.
Primary responsibilities: The goal of the position is to provide visitors an educational, insightful, and fun experience as they learn about the historical importance of the Battleship Missouri Memorial, a world class museum.
Conduct assigned tours of the Battleship Missouri Memorial to visitors, including proper pre-tour briefing, staying within the time limit, following the tour route, accurately relaying the established script, and utilizing appropriate customer service skills to answer questions and provide additional information
Serve at an assigned set position to answer visitor questions and provide historical information, including taking initiative to interact with guests and answer questions
As scheduled, promptly attend morning and evening muster for daily briefing and assignment of duties
Follow established guidelines to conduct opening and closing procedures thoroughly and in a timely manner
Perform the duties of the Brow as assigned
Lead special tours for the Special Events and Education departments, when assigned

Base Camp Guide - Part Time, On-Call
We're seeking part-time, on-call Guides to lead groups of youth and/or adults on a variety of activities (initiative games, climbing wall, archery range, team building, etc.). With training and the help of Base Camp leadership, the Guides provide each group with a valuable and unique Base Camp experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience leading groups of youth and adults.
Training will be provided. If needed, this job can be tailored as an internship.
o Preference is for candidates who have experience working directly with youth, such as working in the classroom, outdoor recreation sites, summer youth camp, or other experience working with youth.
o Experience working with inner city youth between ages of 7 to 21 is helpful.

o Must be age 16 and older.
Location: Base Camp is located at 201 Bloomington Road, Fort Snelling, MN, 55111, near the Fort Snelling light-rail station and near the MSP airport.
Work schedule: Our current need is for guides who can work part-time day hours during the week (Monday-Friday), on an on-call basis.
We also need guides who can work variable hours evenings and weekends. The number of hours worked varies from week to week, depending on programming and staff availability. Staff are required to keep their availability up to date at least 3 weeks in advance, using an online calendar. Staff are scheduled around their conflicts at least 10 days in advance of the event.
