We are currently seeking a Bench Assembler in Fultonville NY (near Amsterdam,NY) to assemble various items such as wiring harnesses, motor housings, guages, perform finishing work, form parts and more. Candidates should possess strong assembly experience and/or mechanical aptitude for working with wiring, seals, hand tools, and be accustomed to bench work. This is a temp to hire position giving you an opportunity to earn a long term career.
Among the many duties you may perform as a Bench Assembler, you'll be putting together kits and sub assembly parts. You'll use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, wire crimping tools, and possibly some soldering tools depending on the parts being assembled. Ideally you have some experience with working with your hands, using hand and/or measuring tools, and like to stay busy. You will be asked to follow schematics or specs to put components together for customer orders, then help prep them for shipment. That will include coordinating with the shipping/receiving department to both assist with orders when needed, but also prep with packaging your finished goods.

The work environment is clean, temperature controlled, and has bench work stations that our assemblers operate in and around. You may need to coordinate with the inventory team to gather parts for your work station. You'll be using small hand tools to put items together, following specific instructions so that each part fits with end-product specifications. You'll need to have a high attention to detail so you're using the correct raw products (some will have to go get those products and stock your work area), review schematics/plans, then assemble and double check your work before handing off to the next stage.

SUMMARY Assembles simple and complex metal parts for major military program. Follows work instructions and complete check sheets as necessary. Responds to daily direction from Team Leader or Assembly Technicians appropriately, and raises concerns or issues to them immediately. Assembler works in compliance to all safety, quality, and production procedures to ensure a safe working environment and produce a quality product that will ship to the customer on-time.
TIG welding experience or desire to learn TIG welding a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Assemble steel and aluminum parts.
Assemble parts according to supplied blue prints and assembly instructions.
Suggest and document best practices for assembly where needed.
Operate hand drills, air grinders, hand riveting, and other hand tools as necessary.
Positions/assembles parts according blueprints and customer specifications.
Test or assist in testing operation of complete product.
As required, provides 1st pcs and final approval inspection for other assemblers by assuring that assemblies comply with drawing specifications.
Trouble shoots /repairs products by dismantling and reassembling assemblies.
Assure parts comply to drawing specifications
Lay out, position, align and fit together all components to ensure compliance to the drawings.
Bonding components together through the use of military grade adhesives.
