Job Description

Falcon Steel America Haltom Plant is seeking qualified individuals to fill the Production Helper position.

Job Summary: This position performs the following responsibilities:-Grinding burrs from holes on various parts-Relieving sharp corners by grinding-General cleaning of parts after welding-Loading and unloading trucks-Other production functions as needed

We have four (4) positions available for our second shift starting at 5:30 pm.

Shift will be Monday-Saturday (10-12 hour shifts)

High school diploma or equivalent preferred


Qualifications:

1. Overhead and Jib crane experience

2. Familiar with electric and pneumatic hand tools

3. Ability to understand & follow instructions


Responsibilities:

1. Maintain good attendance & punctuality

2. Work overtime when required

3. Follow Lead-man directions and instructions

4. Maintain production and quality of finished product

5. Follow all Falcon Steel safety programs/policies

6. Practice good housekeeping (keep area clean/organized)

Job Summary
Serves as a caretaker for the facilities by making sure the buildings are safe and clean.
Job Scope
This position has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Cleans classrooms, locker rooms, gyms, offices, restrooms and other areas as needed.
    • Cleans ceilings, light fixtures, walls, windows, markerboards, water fountains, floors and other items as needed.
    • Strips floors, waxes floors, bonnet buffs carpets and shampoos carpets Replaces light bulbs and ceiling tiles and other items as needed
    • Has working knowledge of fire alarm system and smoke alarms Replaces flush valves, handle valves
    • Has general knowledge of toilet and urinal repair, unstops drains, toilets, sinks and urinals Works with special crews during the summer months
    • Performs other related duties as required


Physical and Environmental Conditions
Performs a variety of physical movements such as: sits, stands, walks, kneels, crouches, squats, crawls, bends, twists, climbs, and lifts on a daily basis. Is exposed to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, wetness/humidity and dark or poor lighting on a daily basis. Is exposed to mechanical, chemical and electrical environments. Location of work is inside and outside of district buildings. Lifts 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Six months to one year experience as a custodian is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, proper handling of all cleaning equipment, proper handling of cleaning supervisors and staff. Job involves reading, mathematical and written language abilities. Uses manual and powered cleaning equipment.
