Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Exercises care in stacking carton blanks on skids/carts to prevent carton mix-ups. Pushes out internal scrap from cut blanks when necessary using die hammer and wood punches. Disposes of extra cartons and loads after completion of carton stripping jobs.
Disposes of extra cartons from gluing department (in gray bins) as required. Operates power baler to compress scrap board and paper into bales.Feeds loose bales back through the baler as needed in a timely manner. Deposits scrap bales and paper skids in the appropriate recycle trailer in a timely fashion.
Operates forklift to move skidded stock into position for stripping. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment. Informs the supervisor when supplies or parts are required.

Job Description: The Mill Operator will operate manual industrial equipment to manufacture and complete precision machined components. Essential skills are working knowledge of tool room machinery, above average math abilities and thorough understanding of machining principles. Duties will include:
Operate equipment such as Bridgeport milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, drill jigs, hinge line boring, etc.
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
Utilize tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, etc. to accurately check and inspect machined components.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to confirm placement of cuts.
To operate independently with minimal supervision.
