About Our Team
The mission of the Telemetry Systems Engineering Department is to design, build, test and implement weapon systems instrumentation for use in weapon development and stockpile evaluation programs. More specifically, we are responsible for developing flight data instrumentation systems to support DOD and DOE Joint Test Assembly flight tests. These tests are used to confirm the performance of nuclear weapon systems such as re-entry vehicles, cruise missiles, and bombs, and such testing is critical to Sandia's stockpile stewardship mission. We also provide non-weapon telemeter monitoring systems that can be used in challenging remote environments. Telemetry Systems Engineering employs electronic design engineers, mechanical design engineers and electronic technologists, as well as telemetry system engineers on our on-going and advanced telemetry projects.
