This position is responsible for the safe switching of railcars and movement of trains in the rail yard.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, responding to safety concerns and taking appropriate action.

SWITCHING FUNCTIONS: Operate track switches and derails to change routing of engines or cars within yards. Check switch points to make sure switch is properly aligned. Make decisions about switching, spotting cars. Observe and monitor track conditions (e.g. broken rails, defective switches, weather-related problems).
Must be able to climb on and off equipment, set or release hand brakes, couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars, remove and replace broken knuckles (75lb railcar connector), ride moving cars by hanging on grab irons, or ladders.
Observe, interpret and relay hand, lantern, and other signals affecting the movement of the train, judge and control the speed and clearance distance of cars and distinguish among colors and see at night.

Responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping warehouse stocked.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
•* Control receipt of inventory into our software system.
•* Check in at time of receiving new parts orders daily.
•* Inspect the quality and condition of new parts as they come in.
•* Ensure the parts received matches the quantity ordered.
•* Preparation and shipment of outgoing parts.
•* Maintain supply levels and communicate needs to Parts Manager.
•* Identifies and reports all overages and shortages.
•* Performs inventory test counts as directed by management.
•* Stock warehouse shelves.
•* Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the warehouse
•* Turns in all paperwork in a timely manner.
•* Maintains professional appearance.
•* Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•* High school diploma or GED.
•* 2 years of shipping and receiving, or stockroom experience preferred.
•* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•* Ability to speak effectively to customers and co-workers.
•* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
•* Good math skills including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
