Part-Time Meter Reader
An employee in this position travels throughout the water service area to obtain readings from water meters. The employee is responsible for taking and recording accurate readings.
The ability to effectively communicate and explain policy and procedures to customers is essential. The employee must be able to operate a
vehicle safely. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Examples of Duties
Taking and recording accurate readings of meters
Effectively communicate and explain policy and procedures to customers
Locate meters and clear debris
Assist meter mechanic in changing meters, locking, and/or removing meters from service.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Some knowledge of tools, materials, techniques and practices needed to read lock out and remove meters is preferred.
This is light to medium work and may require exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold and rain. An employee must have the physical ability to move about freely, including climbing stairs and ladders and crawling into tight spaces.
Moderate lifting is required in performing the work. Visual acuity is necessary to perform paperwork, read gauges and instruments, and make repairs. An employee should be able to hear, talk, and smell.
Up to 30 hours per week.

Reads water meters; enters water consumption data from meter into handheld computerized meter reading device; records data and confirms accuracy of readings; sequences accounts into proper order.
Tests meters to ensure proper operations and accurate readings; inspects/observes condition of meters; checks meters for leaks or illegal taps; reports any necessary repair/maintenance work.
Disconnects or reconnects water service as appropriate; turns on meters to establish water service to new customers; turns off meters to close accounts or to troubleshoot leaks.
Performs manual work associated with meter reading and maintenance activities; digs around meter boxes and removes dirt/debris; pumps water from meter boxes and determines source of leaks; cleans meter boxes and glass to obtain accurate reading; removes and replaces broken meter boxes/lids; shovels materials.
Operates a variety of equipment and tools associated with meter reading activities, which may include a utility truck, radio communications equipment, handheld computerized meter reading device, meter locator, probing rod, water pump, pipe wrench, shovel, or mechanic tools.
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by 2 months previous experience and/or training involving meter reading, customer service, or vehicle operation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.

This part-time, temporary position supports the delivery of interpretive services for a blind or visually impaired student under the supervision of the Access Services Manager.
The main function of this position is that of a Reader/Scribe in the classroom. This position requires the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word. The candidate will work closely with faculty and staff. The candidate must respond to unexpected accessibility challenges in the classroom. Work hours are dependent upon the class schedule of the student or students needing services and will continue based upon student registration and attendance.
Ability to provide services to students with limited visual acuity and/or legally blind.
Familiarity with course content including words, terms, symbols or signs in the English language.
Ability to read aloud text on a page, computer screen or white board in a clear voice and at a normal pace with good pronunciation.
Ability to describe pictures in words.
Ability to scribe (type) oral information verbatim, in real-time, during faculty lecture.
Ability to scribe (pencil & paper and/or typing) dictated information from student.
Ability to record dictation word for word, clarifying with student their intended punctuation, capitalization and spelling.

9:30am; Tuesday/Thursday 10:30am
1:00pm; Monday/Wednesday 1:00pm
2:30 pm. The pay rate is $12.00 per hour.

Manufacturer seeks heat transfer operator to use heat press to apply screen print transfer to different kinds of fabric.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Retrieve artwork from database
Setup cutting machine to proper specifictions and monitor machine during operation.
Remove decals from cutting machine when process is complete
Place decals on weeding board and weed to desired specification
Learn how to use heat press to apply and properly align decals to fabric
Once application is complete store product in designated storage location.
