As a Plastics Setup & Operator, you will need to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Produces plastic sheets. Performs repetitive operations, trims and pierce presses. Form parts in rotovac machine.
JOB INCLUDES SKILLS OF THE FOLLOWING NATURE:
Read blueprints and technical instructions.
Use of measuring devices and tools such as scales, rulers, micrometers, etc.
Use of all types of hand tools.
Complete setup and changeovers.
Knowledge of set-up and adjustments.
Synchronize timing of the actions of the rotovac machines.
Screen heating elements.
Must be able to make complete setup and changeover which includes setting of the die to proper width and thickness, the rollers to the proper gap and speed adjustment of heaters and coolers quickly and accurately, slitter to proper width, the shear to the proper length, setup of overlay roll, adjustment of stacker and adjustment of the virgin material/regrind ratio.
Hold sheet thickness to a tolerance of .003.
Periodic inspection of sheet quality. Make adjustments when necessary.
Use of micrometer, feeler, scales, rulers and thickness gauges.
Maintenance and upkeep of the machine.
Keep record of material used and sheets produced.
Make own set-up, adjustments, and changes over dies under hoist.
Make trial run, obtains inspectors approval and checks parts during production run.
Proper stacking of production parts and proper storage of dies, molds and other equipment connected with the machine.
Lubrication of machine, dies and related equipment.
Make complete set-up changeovers which include installation of molds and plugs.
Adjust and synchronize timing of actions of the machine to form acceptable parts. This includes vacuum auxiliary mold, electric eye.
Screen heating elements to produce necessary plastic thickness in all areas.

As a production operator, assist in maintaining maximum productivity levels.
- Be able to help train others on how printing the boxes should be done, as well as bottle packaging, and on how many boxes should be put on each pallet.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience with plastics manufacturing, injection molding or blow molding
Production Operator experience
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Ability to work in a loud noise environment
