A Heavy Equipment Operator II operates vehicles such as large bulldozers and backhoes, cranes, graders, feller bunchers, prentice loaders, transit mix trucks or other vehicles of similar weight and complexity. Work of this class involves no supervisory responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek which may require some evening, weekend, holidays or callback duty.
Work is performed at highway, grounds or utility maintenance work-sites or landfills where inclement weather and traffic and equipment hazards are encountered. Work requires moderate physical exertion.
