Continuous standing in one location for long periods of time (up to 2-3 hours). Most jobs have fixed workstations and are conveyor line paced.
Able to walk long distances on wet,uneven and slippery surfaces.
Climbing or moving on ladders,steps, stairwells, walkways and platforms.
Carrying, lifting, lowering,pushing and pulling of heavy and/or awkward objects or loads. Lifting and lowering of objects up to 60 lbs. Pushing or pulling of heavy carts, bins or transport containers.
Working in a cold environment between 20-45 degrees F, hot environments between 80-110 Degrees F and frequent contact with animal fats.
Wearing, using and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE). Using, cleaning, maintaining, and safe handling of sharp cutting tools.
Frequent static and/or awkward work postures with neck and spine flexion while grasping, pinching,pulling, lifting, extending,flexing the hands and arms to perform tasks. A variety of arm and hand movements are required in applying force,movement and repetition.
Using and maintaining a variety of knives, hand tools, power tools and equipment, electrical devices, controls and motorized vehicles.
Being able to understand and follow oral and written instructions from supervisor and or designated staff.

Competent and trustworthy to comply with federal inspection programs and all company safety and health policies.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Adjust the application process, equipment, and materials being applied to achieve the target appearance as specified by application inspection tools, color targets, production step-offs, and verbal instructions.
Apply stain and finish material as specified by Herman Miller drawings and routings.
Clean, set up, and adjust pumps, agitators, regulators, spray guns, and wiping materials.
Mix, agitate, and dispense finish material.
Perform daily "housekeeping duties" specified as part of daily Production Painter activity, including, but not limited to, sweeping, wiping, and discarding waste.
Read and interpret Herman Miller drawings and routings related to the product being manufactured, raw materials used to construct product, and required coatings to be applied.
Review, monitor, and share feedback with the Supervisor, Production Operator, and support staff as it relates to the "normal function" of process. Details include, but are not limited to, raw material inventory, oven temperatures, lighting, air make-ups, pollution control equipment, etc.
Set up, clean, and/or replace booth filters, band support rollers, part carriers, saw horses, etc., which are specified as part of daily Production Painter activity.
Use application process monitoring equipment, which includes, but is not limited to, film thickness gauges, gloss meters, viscosity cups, stop watches, graduated measuring cups, air cap gauges, temperature sensors, calipers, and tape measures.

Color acuity that meets or exceeds requirements specified in Corporate Work Instruction 016.

The ability to perform the physical aspects of the job (lifting, bending, wiping, and standing in place) for periods of up to 10 or 12 hours.

This position performs any of a variety of functions unloved with the finish of wood products, including sealing, staining and painting with the goal of manufacturing a quality part according to work order specification while meeting quality and production standards.
Apply Conversion Varnishes, Lacquer or Sealers to wood substrate using air assisted airless or HVLP guns.
Able to troubleshoot and disassemble spray equipment to prepare them for finishing
Must be able to prepare substrate to receive finish material
Must be able to differentiate colors
Mix finish materials in order to obtain proper colors, shades and formulations.
Must wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses and respirators
Troubleshoot any finish that does not meet color or quality levels

Tate Ornamental is a Middle Tennessee based Architectural Millwork/Ornamental Metal company seeking experienced woodwork paint sprayers/finishers or auto body paint sprayers to work with our architectural millwork/woodwork finish personnel. Duties would include sanding raw wood products, sanding sealer, staining, spraying sealer, spraying lacquer top coat, spraying primer and paint, repairs on finish work, mixing paints and stains, applying outdoor oil finishes, applying polyurethane topcoats, applying fillers with Fil sticks and color putty, and working with a variety of species of lumber and veneers in our finishing department.

As a Sprayer, using manual spray equipment, you will apply various types of liquid conformal coatings (acrylics, urethanes, epoxies and silicones) onto prepared printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA's) in a climate controlled spray booth. Your attention to detail will help your team meet daily shipment goals and even exceed customer expectations.
Previous experience in conformal coating of PCBA's, whether manual or robotic application, is a definite plus. Experience in operating and maintaining Binks, DeVilbiss or Iwata spray equipment or other brands of paint spray guns are also a definite plus. Knowledge of spray booth operation and maintenance is a plus. Must pass OSHA required respirator medical exam and fit testing. We will train the right candidate.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially electronics contract manufacturing, is helpful. Experience in using electronic work instructions; updating job travelers electronically, and bar code scanning is very helpful.
Computer literacy (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel) is required as well as the ability to locate and open document files and upload pictures.
$18.00 - $22.00/Hour Depending on Experience
