Hormel Foods has an opening for the Hog Processing Department. Successful candidates will work in our hog processing production facility located in Fremont, Nebraska, and enjoy competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package. Hog Processing is a first shift position and works typically from 7 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. with some Saturday work required. The Fremont Plant processes 10,600 hogs per day.

Working Conditions: The work environment in Hog Processing is a warm environment and in some areas may be exposed to cold temperatures.
Scheduled Hours: A typical work week consists of an 9-9.5 hour daily shift, Monday-Friday with some Saturday work. Please note, the company may require senority based overtime work.

Functional numeric ability is required to count and document lot information for Company and USDA record keeping.
Functional verbal skill is required to communicate with Truck Drivers and Team Members involved in the process.

1st SHIFT HOG BUYER
- 1st Shift - flexible as needed or required
Thoroughly understand JBS's buying programs.
Discuss price, quality, problems, genetics and other related issues regarding the procurement program.
Maintain positive communication and relations with suppliers and livestock haulers.
Received and evaluate hogs as they arrive; sort off-quality and non-conforming hogs for resale.
Obtain accurate count of hogs being received.
Maintain and insure accurate identity of all hogs received.
Move hogs, using approved hog handling equipment and techniques, from trucks through sorting alley, to scales and to holding pens.
Assist livestock haulers, when needed, to insure humane treatment of hogs at all times. This includes entering hog trailers to assess problems within the hog trailers and to assist haulers if a problem exists.
Insure humane treatment of live hogs from the time the delivering trucks enters JBS property through the time the hogs are slaughtered.
Prepare hogs for cutting test.
Attend meetings as determined and directed by supervisor.
Perform various other duties such as counting, sorting, tattooing, and washing, running skid loader and other duties as needed or assigned.
Must have overall knowledge of the Yards Operation and the industry
Knowledge and technical skills in a variety of yard jobs including hog knowledge (breeds, market, handling, etc.)
College level classes in animal science or agriculture related field preferred
Must have people skills
Understand and comply with Company policy and procedures
Good communications skills, both verbal and written

Tender Quality Manager

Participate on the tender Launch Workshop (TLW):
1.Ensure that the TLW is planned and performed at the appropriate phase of the Tender.
2.Provide Return on Experience regarding the Project Industrial Organization (PIO) defined.
3.Provide Return on Experience regarding the list of suppliers identified.
Participate on the tender Design Review (TDR):
1.Ensure that the TDR is planned and performed at the appropriate phase of the tender.
2.Ensure that technical gaps identified during the review are followed and treated before submission. Including robust mitigation plan and risk assessment.
Participate on the Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance (QCDP) Review:

2.Ensure Tender checklist (TEN-FRM-023) is initiated as earliest as possible in the tender process.
3.Perform QCDP readiness review with Bid Manager to evaluate Tender maturity, according to the Tender Checklist, before the QCDP meeting takes place.

Load rolls of paper onto automatic splicing unit of web offset printing press.
Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes or tears and cuts away damaged area with knife.
Roll paper into loading position on automatic splicer, insert shaft of automatic splicer through roll core, secure holding chucks of automatic splicer to shaft ends, and thread paper through press components to prepare press for printing.
Apply adhesive strip to backup roll and insert backup roll onto automatic splicing unit of press to prepare paper for automatic splicing.
Remove roll of leftover paper from press after automatic splicing.
May operate mechanical truck to transport rolls of paper to press area.
May assist with some of the make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates, examining plates, prepping and installing blankets, adjusting tension etc.
May clean press and clean and install press components to maintain press in working order.

Coordinate plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hang paper according to job tickets
Set up and make splices, bend and hang plates as well as hang blankets and assist with webbing up press
Ensure correct ink is available for job and check ink fountains regularly
Set fold during make-readies and check trim sheets to proof and complete necessary roll reports and paperwork accurately
Communicate effectively with plate room and paper warehouse and coordinate changing of ink, etch, and silicone totes as needed
Wash up the press and assist with preventative maintenance.
Candidates must have prior press experience as Press Assistant II (Jogger) with Press Assistant I (Rolltender) training hours completed.
Strong mechanical abilities and knowledge of presses and roll stands and the ability to perform basic math calculations are essential.
Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must.
Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential functions and responsibilities:
Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.
Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
Operates forklift during routine performance of duties.
Unloads, receives, inspects, and stages raw materials, scrap, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
Removes finished products from the production areas ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications.
Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas.
Reviews warehouse production planning schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.
