About the Position:
Deliver high quality learning experiences that meet clients' technical, regulatory and safety learning needs through a blended learning approach and support the design and development of learning solutions. At the highest level the role will act as a technical subject matter expert for the US.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Deliver technical training programs to clients through a blended learning approach, such as hands on activities to stimulate real tasks, ensuring that National Grid is effectively providing training in line with external requirements, operational priorities, and best practice.
Support the design and development of cohesive and innovative curriculum and training programs in order to meet client learning requests.
Liaise with the business, acting as a technical training advisor for various departments throughout the company in order to resolve any queries or issues.
Administer testing and conduct physical and technical assessments.
Represent technical training as the subject matter expert on various committees in order to ensure that technical training is represented and understood in the business.
Conduct assessments of training needs associated with the introduction of new equipment, procedures and technology to ensure that National Grid incorporates best practice into learning methods and programs.
Participate as a subject matter expert during the modification and creation of new technical training programs by the Design and Development areas of Learning and Development.
Keep up to date on training developments in order to ensure that innovation and latest learning requirements and ideas are incorporated into National Grids technical training programs.
Define, create and deliver training programs such as preparing lesson plans and developing instructor materials and assessments in order to meet the learning and development needs of the business and ensure all external requirements are met.
Coordinate learning records administration including monitoring course completions, attendance, assessments, and qualifications.
Represent L&D as the subject matter expert including governance bodies, transformation and best practice committees and other technical committees in order ensure that L&D is represented and understood in the business.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
- A Highschool Diploma or Equivalent is required. Supervisory experience and/or advanced education in Engineering, Education, or a related field are considered a plus.
– A minimum of 5-7 years of heavy equipment operations experience, extensive knowledge of hoisting and rigging.
- Must obtain Massachusetts hoisting engineer license within 1 year of accepting position.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening and presentation skills.
– Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to perform in a team environment, collaborate with others, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
– Strong knowledge of safety policies and procedures and construction standards, and an ability to work collaboratively between these functions
– Understanding of Learning and Development principles
– Working knowledge of personal computers and various business related software.
– Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate their presentation skills and knowledge of technical subject matter by conducting a short training presentation.
- Must have a valid driver's license with safe driving history.

Field Service Controls Engineer
Basic Purpose
To assist the SEW-Eurodrive sales staff to support and sell SEW-Eurodrive electro-mechanical products via technical application support as well as knowledge of the market.
Experience and Educational Requirements
Electronics Engineering Degree, minimum 4 year degree.
Minimum 5 years' experience in Automation and Motion Control systems
Actual Tasks:
Develop strategies and product comparisons for promoting SEW-Eurodrive Electronic and Mechanical products in those industries, being careful to share that information for use in other areas where similar industry exists and may benefit.
Develop an understanding of the major markets in his or her area of responsibility.
Maintain technical documentation in a current and orderly manner.
Accompany SEW-Eurodrive technical staff as well as Industry Account Managers to pre-qualified accounts to discuss, in-depth, the SEW-Eurodrive products (mechanical and electrical) which will best suit the application needs for that customer.
Assist with regional training needs and provide ongoing complete product training for inside engineering and sales personnel.
Size and sell electro-mechanical drive systems in a cost conscious manner. This requires knowledge of important application characteristics such as those found, for example, in winding, indexing and hoisting applications.
Support SEW-Eurodrive technical staff and customers in the startup, commissioning, and programming of SEW-Eurodrive electronic drives.
Develop PLC programs for SEW technical staff and customers with focus on kinematics and motion control systems.
Develop PLC programs and visualization software for multi axis systems such as gantrys, storage and retrieval systems or similar.
Trouble shoot and service mechanical systems such as replacing gear motors, adjusting and aligning motors.
Trouble shoot electrical installations such as Panel wiring, Motor wiring and VFD wiring.
Attend regular training on SEW-Eurodrive products.
Self-train on SEW-Eurodrive electro-mechanical and electronic products on a continuous basis.
Report issues regarding pricing or features of electronic products to the TASC specialist in Lyman for incorporation into future products. Relay customer complaints and observations about the electro-mechanical products and documentation in the same way.
Develop training and documentation materials for customer training courses as required.
Must comply with all current ISO Quality and Work Instructions for job, all Company Safety rules, and all other Company rules, policies and procedures.
Assess each situation and do not perform any tasks which s/he feels is unsafe, on which s/he has not received training, or engage in any unsafe work practices. Report any unsafe condition to his/her manager.
Frequently travel on Company business to any required destination domestically as well as overseas. Frequently stay overnight for extended periods of time (several weeks or month's), obtain lodging, and occasionally conduct business in the evenings, weekends, and holidays and outside of normal business hours.
Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and driving record satisfactory to SEW-Eurodrive or otherwise be able to transport yourself to and from various locations, including customer facilities, to engage in diverse business activities.
Follow all customer safety rules, including the passing of any required drug screens.
Read and understand supporting documentation for the work area.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Produce engineering reports and detailed calculation packages summarizing each engineering assessment.

Position Summary:
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking an Early Career Structural Design Engineer for our Construction
Engineering Services (CES) in the KIE – Omaha, Nebraska office. Looking for the ideal candidate to have
the ability to grow within the CES Engineering team with scheduling out tasks, structural calculations, quantities calculations, cost estimates, and risk mitigation. The Structural Design Engineer should have at least 0 years' experience in engineering plan production and be familiar with current technical tools/programs/software, and Structural codes. Our Construction Engineering Services (CES) group provides value to the success of our clients' projects by designing and building temporary works, such as cofferdams, excavation support, and critical crane lifts, which are critical to quality project design, cost control, and construction excellence. The engineering design tasks our Construction Engineering Services group performs to help Kiewit build projects include: Bridge demolition, Cofferdam design, Critical crane lifts, Girder erection, Hoisting and jacking, Deep foundations and dewatering, Excavation support, Marine engineering, MSE wall design, Piledrive analysis, Ductwork analysis, Falsework design, Temporary bridge & trestle, TSCD budget estimate support, TSCD coordination, Working surface design, On-site engineering support.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design of temporary structures including: falsework, support of excavation systems, temporary bridges,
trestles, and other features relating to our construction operations
Perform calculations and structural designs
Ensure accuracy of the design drawings
Produce quantities and cost estimates
Have the knowledge and ability to analyze and design according to codes, design criteria, and structural
theories
Capable of transferring structural design and ideas to contract drawings
Help identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning
Other responsibilities could include: heavy lift planning, evaluation of existing structures for construction
loads, erection procedures or planned sequences related to our construction operations
Expertise Required:
Experience with temporary structures and/or construction engineering preferred
Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree or greater in
Structural Engineering is preferred
0 - 4 years of relevant engineering experience
EIT licensure or eligibility within the United States
Strong all-around academic knowledge of structural engineering
Experience with engineering design software will be an advantage; this includes AutoCAD, BlueBeam,
MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D etc.
Experience with working in a team setting
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization
Developing interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to travel/TDY assignments and/or relocate based on business needs
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments

Education or experience with mixed signal VLSI CMOS transistor level design, simulation, and physical layout is required. The selected candidate will perform analog and digital sub-micron transistor level design in support of advanced infrared cameras and imagers. Responsibilities include CMOS design and analysis of low noise analog circuit blocks, low power analog to digital conversion, high speed RF, analog, and digital signal transmission, and concept generation of high frame rate mega-pixel infrared imaging arrays.

Proficient with Cadence Design Systems IC design tools (layout, LVS, DRC, Schematic, digital analog simulations, HDL design & synthesis). MATLAB prgoramming. Familiarity with BiCMOS design a plus. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
