About The Role

As a Piping Superintendent in Omaha at Graham you will:
Coordinates and supervises daily activities of 2 to 5 people

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to become the newest member of our Team. This individual needs a strong background in HVAC sheet metal and utility piping experience and familiar with heavy commercial and industrial mechanical work. Experience with Quote soft is a plus but not required.
Develop cost estimates for both design/build and plan and spec. plumbing, piping and/or HVAC projects. Apply industry knowledge, experience, and estimating processes to accurately match anticipated cost to project scope.
Receive requests for internal estimates via assignment from Sr. Estimator. If a request for an estimate is received via direct invite from customer, general contractor, bid notification or plan services, gather basic quote/scope information as needed and forward to Sr. Estimator for decision to proceed or decline.
Initiate the Quote System process (obtain quote number and establish quote folder) for project estimates assigned and if the estimator is the initial contact.
Prepare project estimate:
Obtain plan and specifications from Bassett design engineer/ PM or customer.
Gather field data and/or meet with customer, when requested.
Attend pre-bid walk-thru's and meetings, as required.
Thoroughly review and understand the required estimate scope that identified in plans and specifications. Obtain additional information, if needed.
Identify materials/ equipment/ work to be purchased or subcontracted and contact vendors to obtain quotes.
Perform quantity take-offs.
Determine labor hours and costs.
Assess project risk factors and recommend labor factor or other cost adjustments.
Apply overhead and other costs, as needed. Recommend, review, and confirm project mark-up with requesting engineer/PM and Project Operations Manager.
Prepare proposal and/or bid submittal documents for plan and spec projects and assist with design build documents upon request.
Follow-up on quotes submitted, report results when available, and update Quote System data. Attend bid openings, if required.

Lead Piping Designer
The Lead Piping Designer (LPD) will report directly to the Manager of Plant Design. In this role, you will have responsibility for leading the day to day effort of creating proposal and project detail design deliverables required for estimation and construction of owner operated industrial gas processing facilities. The LPD position requires extensive technical knowledge of all process plant piping systems, pipe support designs, pipe stress analysis interface and the use or application of P&ID's, API data sheets, line lists, valve schedules, pipe specifications and instrument data sheets.
The Lead Piping Designer is responsible to provide input and guidance to ensure that all project objectives of cost, schedule and technical quality are met. Project scope will range from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and facility layout through detailed engineering of gas processing facilities.
This position requires frequent interface with various project and engineering resources. As a member of the Plant Design team, you will be coordinating with Project Management, Civil/Structural, Mechanical, I&C, Control systems and Electrical disciplines as is necessary to create fabrication and construction design packages. You will be expected to participate in the design and execution of one or more project at any given time and provide technical oversight to supplemental contract resources as is needed to support projects. Domestic and international travel may be required (up to 25% of time).
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Proposal Support
- Participate in the preparation of specifications, bid documents, cost estimates, and completion of Front End Loading (FEL) documentation for new opportunities. This may be for both domestic and regional (international) Praxair execution centers. Prepare
plot plans for FEL-2 proposals, including pipe routing studies and key quantity development.
- Overall responsibility to coordinate project specific piping activities with the
engineering team on self-perform in-house projects and/or provide oversight review associated with outsourced / turn-key engineering firms.
Provide markups to the control set of the P&ID throughout the project to support P&ID development.
Guide development of 3D models of piping, pipe supports, and equipment, while interfacing with the structural model.
Conduct internal and client 3D design review meetings at 30%-60%-90%, or other specified design intervals, and implement resulting design changes.
Participate in HAZOP's as requested and make subsequent agreed upon changes to piping drawings.
Review technical vendor submittals for accuracy, specification conformance, P&ID compliance and installation requirements throughout the project execution life cycle.
Plan and coordinate work so the project can be staffed effectively and stays within the budgeted
hours and allotted schedule time. The LPD also ensures that quality and safety requirements are met.

Prepare detailed design checklists and ensure that feedback is captured in the "lessons learned" database during proposal development and project execution

The Application/Piping Engineer shall be responsible for generating detailed fabrication drawings and bill of materials for in-house fabrication of piping systems. Provide technical support for the mechanical and piping effort including participation in planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.
