JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for all activities concerning the operation of the Billet Caster
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Operate all billet caster control panels
2.Responsible for all operational procedures regarding new ladle arrival
3.Responsible for all operational procedures regarding ladle changes
4.Maintain steel level in tundish through operation of the tundish slidegate
5.Lancing non-free open ladles
6.Taking of temperature and samples in the tundish
7.Application of mold powder during casting
8.All tundish car movements
9.Packing of the molds prior to cast start
10. Application of ladle sand (ladle bombing)
11. Ability to operate the overhead crane

13. Responsible for all tundish slidegate tear-down, maintenance and assembly
14. Responsible for removal and dumping of the billet crop buckets
15. Responsible for preparing the dummy bar heads for casting
16. Proper handling of all radiation sources on cast deck.

Must have a Master's Degree, preference given to PhD candidates.

JOB SUMMARY
An advanced level position within the Field Service group, performing hydraulic and mechanical technical duties on fully automated equipment on drilling rigs operating site. Technician will be required to troubleshoot, maintain, inspect and disassemble/assemble mechanical and hydraulic systems of the various Canrig equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following and other duties as assigned:
Assist higher-level technicians, as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
Supervise installation of drilling componentry, as well train less experienced technicians.
Schedule workflow for continuing daily progress.
Inspect all equipment used and perform preventative maintenance checks and service, and notify supervisors of required repairs.
Promote a safe and quality environment in which to work.
Perform preventative maintenance requirements and maintain all hydraulic systems as per OEM standards.
Performs proper set up and calibration of the hydraulic automated circuit components.
Work and troubleshoot variable pressures up to 5000 psi.
Overhaul and repair hydraulic cylinders, to include pressure testing
Overhaul and repair various types of hydraulic valves to include set up and calibration.
Overhaul hydraulic motors and pumps, to include pressure testing and set up.
Capable to fit, measure and identify hydraulic hose requirements for all equipment circuits.
Works with minimum supervision to properly maintain the equipment, to include creating and submitting proper reports and any other required documentation.
Work overtime as required to meet customer drilling schedules.
Measure and record technical data as tasks are completed, inspect documentation prior to job closure.
Perform repairs using torque wrenches and measuring tools.
Assist in trouble shooting using multi meters, amp probes, meggers and scopes.
Extensive travel to customer locations (land and offshore).
Assist in installation of company manufactured drilling equipment and software.
Provide shop technical experience and techniques to other areas of the company as needed.
Maintain and complete documentation including detailed Service and Expense Reports.
Visit drilling rigs operating within the technician's geographic regions.
Remain alert to all opportunities to install additional systems on new rigs and to upgrade, or add-on new equipment.
Comply with and participate in company safety and quality programs.
Maintain company issued tools and be knowledgeable and skillful in the use of these tools.
Attend all Canrig required scheduled training classes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise 1 to 2 employees at a customer site.

In this role, you will design and build dies, fixtures and automated assembly equipment using CNC mills, lathes, grinders, etc. You will also work off of prints and, when needed, will design tooling in Solidworks.
Responsibilities

Study and interpret specifications such as drawings, sketches, models, or descriptions
Visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate designs
Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method/sequence of operations
Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining
Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications
Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using power shears, rules, and hand tools
File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together
Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools
Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products
Develop and design new tools and dies using computer-aided design software
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, presses, grinders and cutting machines, which are manual, and computer controlled
Uses these machines to fabricate parts and components, and verify conformance of the machined parts to specifications
Lift machined parts, tools, molds, and plates; positions/secures parts on surface plate/worktable
Assembles, disassembles and cleans molds, dies and components
Fit and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms
Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances with precision measuring instruments
May perform polishing, heat treating, or welding on tools or components

Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function
Develops specifications from general descriptions, for specialty tools

Qualifications:
At least 4 years in the machining field (will consider a 4th year apprentice) with knowledge of programming CNC's with Mastercam software, Maza-cam solution ware, program in mazatrol and G code
Experience in Solidworks a plus
Knowledge of CAD and good computer skills
An understanding of the properties of materials
Ability to lift and bend
Some travel may be required

Job Description:
Based in Total's Research & Technology Center USA (Houston), this position is fully dedicated to the Total R&D EP Unconventional Program.
The owner of this position will be responsible for advising the Tight Oil – Gas Shale Project Manager on all matters related to the hydraulic fracturing of unconventional plays. As a result, the incumbent will strongly influence the content of the research project.
The main research areas encompass:
Development of methods and tools to optimize the recovery of multi-stage hydraulically fractured laterals
Alternative methods to hydraulic fracturing
Minimize the impact of hydraulic fracturing activities
As advisor for all R&D topics related to hydraulic fracturing, the incumbent will have to:
Participate in the identification of the main research areas, technologies and methodologies to be studied.
Propose work programs and/or evaluate those proposed by third parties.
Participate in joint research projects and lead those operated by Total, ensuring the supply and quality of deliverables

SUMMARY: Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot dies in tool room and punch press. Perform timely and accurate changeovers per production requirements.

Perform basic maintenance on existing dies; perform both planned and unplanned work within estimated times
Troubleshoot basic die problems in the tool room and in the press
Perform minor revisions and upgrades to dies

Proficient operation of all machines and tools necessary to perform die repair functions
Complete paperwork including daily time cards, opening/closing a work order, completing tool room checklists
Move parts and dies by hand, a hand truck, or a power truck
Follows the Quality Management System requirements in the tool room and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them.
Performs related duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Successful completion of tool & die apprenticeship program
Knowledge and understanding of stamping dies, die design, construction techniques, maintenance and troubleshooting
Knowledge of punch press equipment and metal forming processes
Ability to perform trigonometric calculations to accomplish the work needed to repair, maintain, build and revise all types of tooling
Knowledge of function and safe operation of tool room machines
