The Blocker and Bracer secures cargo in or aboard cargo carriers such as trucks, vans, trailers, railroad cars, sea vans, barges and ships to prevent damage during its transportation, determines appropriate lumber size and kind and prepares the lumber required for braces, chocks, blocks, beams, planking, cribbing, skids, cradles, saddles, etc., using hand and power tools. This worker nails, spikes, bolts, or fastens with wood screws or lag screws supporting and bracing fixtures to secure cargo items, constructs weatherproof shelters over some types of deck loads, guys, lashes and binds heavy equipment to pad eyes, rings, eyelets, hooks, stanchions, cleats, or other supporting fixtures using chains, ropes, cable, wires or metal straps. This worker constructs temporary trestles, decking, bulkheads, cribbing and sheathing, and cuts dunnage to support, stiffen, or separate bulky or heavy cargo.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Studies specifications and measures, marks and cuts boards using patterns templates, ruler, and pencil and hand and power saws.
Fastens or installs parts using hammer, nailing machine or power stapler.
Repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts, and/or fabricate containers from wood and fiberboard including pallets, Dunn age and restraints.
Inserts wood bracing’s, cardboard files and felt pads in containers.
Builds crates around objects using ruler, hand tools and pneumatic nailer, and ensures items are properly preserved, packaged and do not require further protection before shipping.
Fabricates, repairs, modifies and replaces woodwork on vehicle sides and beds.
Preserves items, as required, prior to packing.
Packs, seals, bands and applies markings to crates and containers.
When required, package items in constructed boxes, crates, pallets, etc.
Inspects commercial furnished railcars for serviceability and complement of equipment necessary for loading.
Assists and directs the tie down of Military Vehicles/equipment and MILVANS loaded onto railcars. Assures all is tied down, blocked and/or braced IAW Military and Transporting railroad specifications.
Inspect Blocking and Bracing, issuing Bolt / Wire Wrap seals and assist in the installation of CIDD (Container Intrusion Detection Device) on all Containers deploying overseas.
Prepares cargo for shipment, obtains GBL/CBL from outbound freight and loads freight on commercial conveyances.
Performs other duties as assigned in a warehouse and/or outdoor environment in all types of weather.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Extensive interaction with the customer is required. Work requires long, strenuous hours and being able to work under pressure.
May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

Mechanics in this position set up, operate and adjust a variety of mechanical and hydraulic presses (e.g., Crushed Core, Transition Former, Hydraulic Tube Pull Out, Isostatic Bulge Former) Forming material such as composite, metal and alloy using hot and cold dies.
Installing and removing dies and punches of various sizes and weight.
Employment in this position also requires handling, standing, bending and twisting at the waist, lifting and carrying less than 10 pounds, walking, rotation of head/neck, contact with plastics, exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions and extreme heat, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, hand/arm, ears and feet.
Obtain work package from, ready to work rack, as delivered to work station, work board, assigned by lead, or run previously set-up job by reviewing tie-in from prior operator.
Operate computer to access information as needed to obtain required information from prints, sketches, drawings, layout documents and Boeing (BAC) specifications.
Perform safety check of machine, ensure that the area around machine is clear of any obstacles (e.g., loose material, tools, oil spills), power switch is off, safety jacks and/or guards are installed and that press bed is clear of any obstructions.
Move heavy material, equipment tools and dies to the work area using stackers, Kalamar, die loader or overhead cranes, as required.
Ask for assistance from co-workers as needed. Check steam lines for cracks or cut, verify o-ring is properly seated prior to hook up.
Pre heat dies and punches using electricity or steam, hook up steam lines and thermal couples, as required.
Verify temperature accuracy for hot dies by using temperature stick and/or Pyrometer to verify tool/die set up per (BAC) specifications.
Determine machine set up by reviewing W/O, tooling usage instructions, and/or die set up charts make adjustments, as required.
Load die into press, secure die using bolts and clamps, visibly check for defects, and torque as required.
Examine tools, dies and/or fixtures for damage.
Separate dies, as required, using appropriate handling Procedure.
Set up press cycle program using control panel or manual power switch to adjust height, stroke, pressure and cycle time of press head.
Develop patterns when necessary, cut and tailor to die requirements fiberglass, graphite, honeycomb core and similar materials where no patterns or templates are furnished.
Perform pull outs on various types of metal and alloy tubes using a Hydraulic Tube Pull Out machine.
Verify that material is free from burrs and debri, use hand file and/or denatured alcohol prior forming operation.
Expand or constrict metal and alloy ducts using various types of presses either hydraulic or electric, as required.
Check first-run parts, tools, and machinery to ensure they meet safety, BAC specifications and preventive maintenance requirements.
Perform tool try out.
Obtain new or re-worked tools/dies, set up tools/dies and press per tooling usage instruction.
Work with appropriate personnel (e.g., tooling, planning, engineering) to troubleshoot and recommend solutions.
Clean parts, equipment and tools, as required.

Hydraulic Maintenance Technician
Eaton in Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Hydraulic Maintenance Technician to work 2nd shift.

You will perform hydraulic and mechanical repairs on hydraulic test stands and equipment with hydraulic systems in all areas of the facility.
You will perform trouble shooting of hydraulic /mechanical malfunctions on test stands and other equipment with complex hydraulic systems.
You will perform construction and installation of test stands and other hydraulic systems.
You will perform routine maintenance, I.E. replacing filters, changing oil, and accomplishing leak repair as necessary to ensure equipment preventative maintenance schedules are performed.
You will perform hydraulic related 5S/TPM program maintenance related functions as required.
You will assist Automated Test Stand engineers as required with test stand circuit modifications.
You will perform duties as assigned to ensure the continued operation and timely repair of equipment which would include making requests for repair parts, maintaining inventories of repair parts and rebuilding units for repair parts inventory.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of four (4) years prior work experience in an industrial or military environment operating, repairing, maintaining, and/or constructing hydraulic test equipment.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
No relocation benefits are being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Eaton's Jackson, MS facility will be considered for this position
Welding or fabrication experience
Direct testing experience with hydraulic components
General maintenance experience

Experience with and/or training on hydraulic test stands and related hydraulic systems
Mechanical maintenance experience in the field of forming and bending hydraulic tubing, fabrication of hydraulic hoses, and test of hydraulic system components
Knowledge of test stand fundamentals and basic operation skills
Ability to read hydraulic schematics and related drawings
Experience operating general maintenance equipment and tools
Basic knowledge of component parts
Ability to read and understand blueprints and applicable specifications
Knowledge of maintenance procedures
Prior experience using computers
