The ideal candidate will have a strong background and/or interest in engineering design in the field of Waterpower & Dams. Hydraulic Project Engineer
Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC is seeking a qualified individual to lead and assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design for transportation engineering and civil design projects. The position will work within our Infrastructure Engineering Branch in our Raleigh office. Projects will primarily involve hydrologic and hydraulic engineering for roadway/highway, municipal street, and pedestrian (greenways, multi-use trails) projects. Thorough knowledge of NCDOT design standards and practices and experience in project development work flow are required for the position.
Candidates should have a BSCE or BSCET degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressive hydrologic and hydraulic design experience.
Licensure as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina is required; PE licensure in surrounding states is desirable.
Project Management experience is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with step backwater programs (HEC-RAS) and knowledge of FEMA requirements is required.
Experience in roadway drainage design, stormwater management practices and regulations, and erosion control design are required
Experience with Microstation, Geopak and Geopak Drainage is required; experience with Corridor Modeling is desirable

Capable to fit, measure and identify hydraulic hose requirements for all equipment circuits.
Works with minimum supervision to properly maintain the equipment, to include creating and submitting proper reports and any other required documentation.
Work overtime as required to meet customer drilling schedules.
Measure and record technical data as tasks are completed, inspect documentation prior to job closure.
Perform repairs using torque wrenches and measuring tools.
Assist in trouble shooting using multi meters, amp probes, meggers and scopes.
Extensive travel to customer locations (land and offshore).
Assist in installation of company manufactured drilling equipment and software.
Provide shop technical experience and techniques to other areas of the company as needed.
Maintain and complete documentation including detailed Service and Expense Reports.
Visit drilling rigs operating within the technician's geographic regions.

Comply with and participate in company safety and quality programs.
