The Ice Cream Maker Level 3 position is responsible for safely freezing and filling containers in accordance with product specifications.
This position includes operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of ice cream freezers, fillers, and fruit feeders, variegate pumps, metal detectors, check weighers, coders, wrappers and vision scanners. The operator is also responsible for the inclusion of particulates and variegates at specification levels and within quality guidelines. Accountable for overall production line performance: safety, quality, cost, attainment, and line efficiency. Ice Cream Maker Level 3 position must also be capable of performing convocan Operator and ICM 2 responsibilities such as flavoring mixes and operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance activities for convocan equipment and palletizing processes.
Actively participate in NCE (Nestle Continuous Excellence) including participation in operational reviews and problem solving initiatives. Support and participate in NQMS (Nestle Quality Management Systems) activities and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete transactions in SAP (consumptions, transfers, reversals etc).
Update SHO boards, complete shift hand off at SHO boards.
Participate and lead in GSTDs.
Operate and clean assigned equipment.
Make adjustments to ice cream freezer temperature, viscosity, air mixture, and flow of mix.
Responsible for the flow of mix from mix tanks to flavor vats to freezer to filler.
Responsible for the operation of the metal detector, vision scan and kick off: proper settings per flavor and calibrate, verify proper functioning and document as required.
Set-up pumps and fruit feeders to deliver inclusions at product specification levels
Monitor fruit feeder; variegate; pumps (give directions to other employees as required).
Safely and properly clear machine jams.
Observe machine operation to detect malfunction. Troubleshoot and make operator adjustments on freezer and fillers during production. Take corrective action as necessary.
Complete pre-start checklist
Set up, monitor, and maintain the code date equipment: verify codes; proper coding; adjust as necessary; and change code as necessary for product changeovers.
Complete quality checks: net weights; inclusion levels and distribution; metal detector; packaging verification; ingredient magnets; Vision scanner; chocolate weights; and other product specific requirements.
Work in cold environments periodically (approx. 20 deg F)
Complete Kleanz sheet.
Participate in troubleshooting of micro and environmental issues.
Ensure safe handling of allergen and non-GMO ingredients/finished products.
Responsible for training new Ice Cream Maker Level 1, 2 and 3.
Support mix making as needed with batch staging.

Prepares and inspects winter equipment-maintains snowplow equipment, cutting edges and sanders; and clean equipment post storm.
Performs preseason snow route inspection and performs post storm cleanup including machine or hand sweeping of bridges, guardrails, sidewalks, crossovers, medians, ramps, and roadways.
Maintains documentation on snow and ice data for accurate reporting of inventory and resource management.

A minimum of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no air brake restriction and a tanker endorsement. Must obtain Class A within 6 months of hire. Leads the Site change management process and activity management, develops efficient supply solutions for new initiatives, responsible for line capacity and reliability loss analysis, analyses trends in KPI performance and recommends opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
Site Change Management and Activity Management Owner
Develop Site Supply Solution for activities driven by the business that incorporates efficient manufacturing solutions inclusive of utilization and capacity analysis, impact to KPIs including TRS/reliability, waste, labor, and capital requirements. Align with Site Associates and Leadership team on recommended supply solution.
Collaborate with Ice Cream business in analysis for new idea feasibility and financial viability to support innovation, capacity, and supply chain efficiency.
Manage the development and execution of all change management at the Site, including Segment activities, and Site Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Responsible for execution of timeline to meet critical milestones needed to achieve production dates. Monitor and track delivery of actual vs. planned KPIs for associated activities.
Responsible for leading the Site Activity Management process
Site KPI Analysis and Management
Lead development and delivery of annual Operating Plan in conjunction with S&F, including Key Performance Indicators and Manufacturing Conversion Costs with year-on-year improvement targets.
Lead Site Period Connection review process
Monitor KPI trending and performance to support Value Stream and Site to deliver results. Analysis provided to develop or adjust resources and activity sets as needed.
Deliver Site Quarterly Account document for Corporate Q18 reporting.
Support benchmarking across like technologies to deliver best practices to the Site.
Capital Project Management
Author, submit and gain approval for capital investment projects related to capacity, innovation, CI and Asset Health Check activities
Support site Master Plan 'Mobilize' and 'Create' activities
Collaborating with Value Stream and Engineering, leads capacity analysis, develops Lean Supply solution, and quantifies impact to Site KPIs including TRS/Reliability, waste, labor, and Tonnes/Shift for all capital projects for the Site.
Partner with the Site Technical Manager and Supply Excellence Manager to identify and prioritize site efficiency projects that will drive CI targets.
Capacity, Utilization, and Loss Analysis
Responsible for Site Rate Review and MCP process based on site standards and demonstrated performance.
Support tactical capacity and utilization scenarios
Lead capacity analysis required to support CI, Reliability, capital projects, and segment requirements.
Responsible for development of start-up curves, changeover times, target rates for new activities.
Analyze, identify and recommend solutions for reducing raw material waste, production inefficiencies, and non-value added activities through Loss Analysis.
Lead the FMOS FI connection point around Loss analysis and put systems in place for measuring and analyzing losses.
Lead the Mars Supply Excellence FI Pillar
Responsible for maintaining the line downtime system integrity for assigned area of responsibility and communicating weekly compliance to departments.
Segment Growth and Profit Strategies (1-5 Year Horizon)
Partner with the Site Technical and Supply Excellence Manager to develop the Site's 1-5 year strategy including infrastructure, capacity, and CI to meet long term KPI improvement.
Collaborates with Ice Cream Business to implement segment strategies to achieve long term customer service, inventory management, segmentation, and supply chain cost objectives.
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, another Engineering Discipline or Business Management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
MBA or Advanced Degree
3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Capital Project write ups
