Monitors public skating events to ensure safe operations both on and off the ice. Assists in the general maintenance and upkeep of the ice arena area to include sweeping, cleaning and other custodial duties.

Minimum Educational and Training
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and presently in high school or have a high school diploma or GED. Must be proficient ice skater. Prior ice rink or similar position experience is preferred.
The work typically calls for extensive skating, walking and standing for long periods of time. The employee may be required to lift light and occasionally heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb stairs, skate and set up equipment for events.
Seasonal Part Time Ice Rink Attendant 2018
General Overview of Position
The City of Kenosha is accepting applications for Attendants to work at the City's ice rink (located at 625-52nd Street) from December until early March. Attendants hours will include evenings and weekends, approximately 15-30 hours per week.
Please note that City employees (including seasonal employees) may only be employed in one classification at any one given time.
Example of Duties & Responsibilities
Attendants at the municipal ice rink are responsible for the distribution of ice skates to the public. General maintenance and cleaning of ice rink facilities and surrounding grounds; and other duties as assigned.
Must be 16 years of age or older by December 9, 2018.
Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen which requires a parent or legal guardian to accompany and provide permission to the minor at the test collection site.

Sells and serves food and beverages at Idaho IceWorld ice rink.

Prepares and sells concession items. Operates food preparation equipment.

Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies, also instructs ice rink programs and skating lessons at an outdoor ice rink environment.

The Neenah Parks and Recreation Department builds and maintains three ice rinks with warming shelters. Two have sled hills. The shelters are located at Washington, Memorial and Green Parks. We are seeking a responsible person for the operation of the ice rink, sled hill and warming shelter during open hours.
Open hours vary, based on location and the weather. We are seeking someone to work weekday evenings & weekend hours.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK

An employee in this position operates a Zamboni machine to resurface the ice at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. The employee also performs minor repairs and maintenance on the Zamboni and facility. The employee cleans the locker rooms and other areas in the arena. The employee also acts as a watchperson at the arena and prepares weekly equipment maintenance and supply reports.
