Position Summary The Passenger/Light Truck Development organization is comprised of a global team of engineers and scientists that develop the next generation of Bridgestone and Firestone products.
Responsibilities Teammates work in cross-functional teams and are responsible for utilizing and applying cutting edge development tools to make mechanistic-based decisions for the design and development of tires. A position within the group works to ensure the future success of Bridgestone and Firestone products in the marketplace in North America and South America.
In addition to development activities, this position may also be responsible for supporting new innovation projects to improve the state of the art for future products. Travel opportunities to support plant developments, gain market understanding, or participate inon-vehicletests at TPG orwith our customers may be available. The cross-functional nature of tire development allows for exposure to other areas of the company, which can lead to many career development or advancement opportunities within the company.

Candidate will work under limited supervision to manage the production test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including transition to production, sustained production and depot activities. Position is for first shift; however, the manufacturing environment can operate multiple shifts including some weekend work so candidate must be capable of supporting this schedule. Design and test electronics for our products which includes embedded systems, FPGAs, schematics, component selection, mechanical design, and project management.
Redesign and optimize existing products to improve functionality and cost.
Responsible for evaluating new software tools and components.
Create and maintain software and hardware documentation.
Specify new products and assist in project progression through production.
Cooperate with manufacturing engineering to move designs to production including product testing and regulatory efforts.
Utilize a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
