Emergency Department Assistant - Feinberg ED, Full-Time, Nights
Three 12-hour shifts; plus every other weekend
Night Shift
The Emergency Department Assistant (EDA) functions in an assistive role to the Registered Professional Nurse, in provision of direct and indirect patient care activities in the Emergency Department. The EDA functions as a member of the ED multidisciplinary team under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and ED Physician.
Follows established policies, procedures and standards of care in all areas of practice. Facilitates the coordination patient flow, assists health care team, and independently performs duties. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes daily activities and multiple tasks.
Demonstrates familiarity with ED specific protocols and equipment. Gives and receives shift report. Direct Patient Care Activities:
Provides wound care--Cleanses and irrigates wounds using aseptic technique; Applies simple and complex dressings appropriate to type of wound, including application of ointments (Neosporin, Silvadene) and impregnated dressings (Xeroform, Duoderm); Applies Steri-strips as directed; Performs suture removal. Assists with splinting and orthopedic devices: Assists with positioning/immobilization of patients to enable casting;Applies splinting/orthopedic devices (soft cervical collar, metal and plastic splints, wrist brace, sling, aircast, elastic bandage, knee and shoulder immobilizers, cast shoe, posterior mold, plaster cast); Instructs assistive devices and ensures patient competency in crutch walking, cane usage.
Performs ECGs: Performs Stat, chest pain, ECGs within 10 minutes; Accurately enters patient data for procedure; Ensures order entry into Powerchart; Retrieves previous ECGs for comparison; Presents ECGs to ED Attending for review and documents activity; Transmits data every two hours. Performs phlebotomy in addition to specimen collection (urine, stool, sputum). Labels and processes specimens according to established protocols and policies.
Performs bedside waived testing procedures and maintains annual competency. Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge process. Prepares patient and room for MD or RN assessment, evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (work may require lifting and positioning of patients.
Obtains vital signs and routinely reassess vital signs. Applies cardiac monitor/pulse oximetry. Prepares oxygen, suction equipment, and other respiratory aids.
Collects and records intake and output. Administers and assists with direct patient care and patient hygiene activities. Makes rounds of patients and anticipates their needs.
Answers patient's call lights promptly. Applies comfort and safety measures. Transports and/or retrieves patients, specimens, equipment and/or supply as needed, including to front door on discharge.
Documents on medical record all patient care provided, including charge voucher. Removes fixed rings using ring cutter and ensures identity and possession of patient belongings. Performs CPR.
Performs morgue care. Indirect Patient Care Activities: Completes all necessary duties to ensure a clean, safe, attractive work environment; Cleans, organizes, and prepares patient rooms; notifies appropriate personnel for mopping, garbage disposal; Maintains stock of patient care items according to standards, orders accordingly in Powerchart; Cleans and prepares for processing of equipment requiring sterilization; Returns sterilized equipment to proper location and stores excess equipment; Performs daily departmental room checks and bedside waived testing quality measures; Assists with order entry and telephone response; Utilizes and updates online patient and bed tracking systems. AA/EOE.
Required:
CPR certification from American Heart Association
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous patient care experience required with demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired:
Phlebotomy and ECG skills preferred
Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a fast paced environment desired
College degree or interest in health care field preferred
EMT-B certification helpful.

Job Designation
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Winding and Casting Production Team Lead is knowledgeable in Winding, Lead Wire, Coil Parts, Casting, and Varnish processes that support all Value Streams. The Winding and Casting Production Lead is expected to create and manage assigned production schedules ensuring compliance, using MPS tools in order to produce products to meet our customer's expectations. The Production Lead is required to continuously improve our performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost as indicated by our KPI's while closely interfacing with other production leads to ensure daily schedules are met. This individual will also perform production processes as part of their daily tasks in order to meet company deliverables and deadlines.

Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.
Years Experience: 5+ years industrial chemical, casting, potting, or varnish impregnation experience. Previous leadership / supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:

Purpose
This job description is intended to serve as general guidelines for day to day responsibilities. Employees may be required to perform duties outside of their job description from time to time. The extra duties will not be defined, but the goal is for all CHI employees to pitch in and help other departments when help is needed for whatever reason.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Fabricates, assembles, reworks, and repairs products per the Master Work Instructions (MWI) and VISABILITY Work Order, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment as instructed.
● Read and understand work orders, MWI, drawings and related documentation to meet production requirements of products.
● Enters labor in VISABILITY system accurately, closing operations to correct work order quantity completed, clocking time correctly for start, breaks, lunch and end of shift. Works to established standard labor hours to perform assigned operations.
● Fabricates, assembles, reworks, and repairs plastic products, applying knowledge of working characteristics of plastics and bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
● Reads work orders and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications.
● Lays out cutting lines on plastic materials, such as sheet stock and fiberglass or graphite cloth, following template pattern, blueprints, sketches, or sample part, using measuring and marking instruments.

● Mixes ingredients, such as resins, catalysts, fillers, accelerators, and colors, according to formulas, manually or using mixer.

● Verifies dimensions of parts, using precision instruments, such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
● Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware and fittings, such as brackets and hinges, using clamps, jigs, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners.
● Applies tape, foam, or other type of adhesives to assembly for subsequent bonding in autoclave.
● Repairs and reworks damaged or defective parts and assemblies by lay up, foaming, cementing, molding, potting, casting, or similar methods per Engineering instructions.

Composite Technician II
SARGENT AEROSPACE & DEFENSE
Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this document is to define the responsibilities of a Composite Technician II as required to meet and support the needs of the Kahr Production. The Composite Technician II is responsible for the manufacturing of preimpregnated (prepreg) material for use in self-lubricating bearings. The Composite Technician II is also responsible for complying with operating and quality systems procedures as stated in process bulletins and specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform mixing of resins, adhesives and impregnation of fabrics.
Perform set up and validation of production machinery for proper operation.
Perform and monitor machine operation to ensure smooth and efficient running and production of quality products.
Ensure appropriate planning to obtain and prepare materials required for daily production run.
Ensure proper settings of production equipment and process controls in accordance with established protocols.
Perform inspection of products during production runs.
Perform job tasks according to procedures and schedules using established safe methods and processes.
Clean production machinery to ensure proper running and operation.
Create and/or complete necessary production related paperwork.
Operate equipment including forklift, hoist, etc. to move materials and supplies.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Maintain total quality assurance.
Carry out tasks with minimal supervision and strict attention to detail.
Work with team to identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities and contributes to the continuous development of the safety, health and environment requirements within the team's work area.
Operate within all and Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements.
Other tasks as directed by the Kahr operations supervisor.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience working with resin impregnated fibrous materials and adhesives.
Experience with handling, mixing, and applying resins and adhesives.
Experience with handling chemicals, shelf life of materials, scales, ovens, mechanical devices preferred.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and accurate measurements.
Ability to read and decipher specifications, work orders, and material safety data sheets.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Must be able to read/comprehend, write, communicate orally and analyze data.
Experience with use of hand and other tools in the area employed.
Complete in-house training with regards to equipment operation, production methods and job expectations.
Hazmat experience and training preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanics and electronics a plus.
Ability to quickly comprehend industry-related technical terms.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
Good human relations skills and the ability to work well with others - a team player.
Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
U.S. Citizenship Required
The Composite Technician II is required to complete a supervised training program as well as read and understand any pertinent training or department procedural manuals.
Samples Technician
This position performs a variety of job functions with the end result of samples catalyst manufacture for new product introduction or service catalyst manufacture, for vehicles which are no longer in mass production. The incumbent will prepare substrate for processing, as well as prepare washcoat and impregnation solution batches. They will perform all coating processes, and also monitor all relevant coating and equipment process parameters. The incumbent will be responsible for the calculation of all precious and base metal loadings, as well as the completion and maintenance of all written and electronic records. They will also be responsible for precious metal inventory, housekeeping duties, and following all safety and health rules.
This technician grade must have become proficient in at least 2 of the following job tasks to reach this level, and the incumbent must become proficient in performing at least 6 of the following job tasks to progress to the next level:

Key responsibilities
Prepare substrate for processing.
Prepare and complete all order paperwork including data collection.
Calculation of coating solution compositions and adjustments.
Prepare coating solutions and washcoat batches; PGM and non PGM containing.
Set-up and operation of all processing equipment. Assist in equipment malfunction troubleshooting.
Know and understand customer requirements and specifications to apply them to order.
Responsible for maintenance of inventory and assist in major inventory activities
Responsible for the operation of analytical equipment. (solids, x-ray, viscosity, pH, etc. )
Stamp, label, and package finished product for release to QC or shipment to the customer.
Understand and practice 5S and good housekeeping principles.
Understand and apply TS16949 and ISO14001 principles from relevant training and procedures.
Assist in troubleshooting process and problems with order completion.
Perform assigned pilot plant responsibilities.
Help to train new technicians and assist in cross training of fellow technicians.
Work toward assigned goals and objectives
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will need:
Post high school training with 2-4 years production experience.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is a plus.
General troubleshooting skills, solid math skills including algebra, the ability to work with general supervision, and ability to follow instructions with some variation in routine.
Experience with using Excel or other spreadsheet programs.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
