Provide Flight Termination System (FTS)/ Flight Safety System (FSS) support to the Stages Element Office. Responsibilities include:
Work closely with the Stages FTS Lead, Stages Avionics Chief Engineer, Stages engineering, and Stages contractor to plan, develop, integrate, and test the FTS system. Provide advice and recommendations relative to planning, schedules, risk and analyses to program decision makers.
Maintain technical insight and cognizance of the Stages contractor FTS development program and activities for the FTS system including FTS Battery Unit (FBU), Command Receiver/Decoder (CRD), Safe & Arm Device (S&A), Linear Shaped Charge Assembly (LSCA), and associated flight FTS harnesses and communicate relevant information to the Stages Element FTS Lead and SLSP Level II FTS Lead.

Degree in Engineering Science, Math or related technical field from an ABET-accredited university is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum 4 years of experience; Masters with at least 8 years of experience, or a BS with at least 10 years of experience.
Required Skills:
Launch Vehicle Flight Termination System (FTS)/Flight Safety System (FSS) experience.

Supervisor, Refueling And Remote Handling (882-2019)
POSITION SUMMARY: The refueling and remote handling (R&RH) systems organization integrates with the various nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) design groups by providing highly complex refueling and remote handling solutions for the NuScale small modular reactor. The R&RH Supervisor leads a team of engineers responsible for the principle design and analysis of refueling processes of the reactor module, remote handling of radioactive materials, underwater handling, and automation of systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises a team of professionals and provides assistance on technical work in line with project goals.
Responsible for the development of engineering deliverables that communicate the design and technical aspects of refueling and remote handling systems.
Develops material handling processes to support remote refueling of the NuScale reactor module.
Responsible for the design and analyses of refueling and remote handling equipment in a unique combination of deep underwater and potentially radioactive environment.
Works closely with other NSSS design groups to develop component alignment features that ensure repeatability and reliability of refueling and automated remote handling systems.
Incorporates cutting edge hydraulic, mechanical and electrical technology and control systems in remote tooling design to ensure precision operations.
Participates in the development of overall objectives of the group within the NSSS department and supports the development of project work breakdown structures.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field. A professional engineer license registration or advanced degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of experience in managing complex refueling and remote handling projects/product development and/or managing large nuclear projects with high degrees of complexity and multiple interfaces. Experience with design and manufacturing development of complex handling equipment for large critical components in tight tolerance applications is required. Experience with remote, underwater, or automated applications is preferred.

Responsibilities
As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER, WG-5801-5/8, duties include:
Performs limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles. Assists higher graded mechanics in the repair and/or overhaul of major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls.
Makes routine repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts and components. Performs work in accordance with technical manuals, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, regulations or management policies.Performs limited diagnoses to determine the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses basic test equipment such as compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and pressure gauges. Determines when parts should be cleaned, adjusted or replaced with standard parts to complete work orders.
Removes, replaces, adjusts, cleans and installs parts and components such as wheel seals, switches, sensors, fuel pumps, water pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters, radiators, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors, mufflers, battery cables, and other items of similar complexity.
Independently performs routine repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems using standard parts. Receives guidance and instruction from a higher graded mechanic or supervisor to perform non-routine and more complex repairs on portions of major assemblies and/or systems. Conducts limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity. Performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc. Performs other preventive maintenance operations as required to ensure that equipment is functioning properly.

60% Employee perform grounds keeping tasks which is also inclusive of making minor repairs to the interior / exterior of buildings and facilities as well as playground management. Employee also maintains furniture and equipment employing basic skills in the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical and related fields. Additionally, performs custodial duties and basic road maintenance such as clearing drainage, filling pot holes, placement of signs, removing shrubbery and repairing fences.
20% Employee maintains and replaces large appliances in each apartment unit as needed. Employee maintain accurate inventory information of all large appliances (stoves, refrigerators and A/C's) stored in a warehouse and logs in and out each unit as necessary for use, repair or scrap. Employees maintain inventory of products used daily, including tools, filters, cleaning supplies, as well as maintenance inventory used for work orders submitted by residents.
10% Employee starts and checks for the safety and maintenance of a wide variety of hand tools, pumps, blowers and pressure washers. Employee escorts contractors and the fire marshal to grant access to units when inspections or outside vendor services are needed via contract.

Employees are authorized to use the Residential Life sub master keys as part of their daily duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.
SUBSTITUTIONS:

Class Description
A Building Repairer maintains and repairs the physical structures and utility systems of public buildings. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek.
Work is performed in and outside of public buildings where such conditions as the seasonal extremes of weather, cramped spaces and working at heights from ladders and scaffolding may be encountered. The work requires moderate physical exertion involving the movement of lumber, cement, pipes, and masonry products.

Duties Summary

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Examples of Work
AS A MAINTENANCE REPAIRER
Makes minor repairs to the interior/exterior of buildings and facilities and maintains furniture and equipment employing basic skills in the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and related fields.
Maintains and makes minor repairs to small lawn mowers, appliances, chainsaws, pumps, cars, and tractors including lubricant levels, timing, replacing, and adjusting minor worn or damaged parts (belts, plugs, fuses, hoses, etc.).
Cleans and replaces filters on window air conditioners and simple central heating and air conditioning systems.
Starts, operates, and checks for safety and maintenance of a wide variety of small engines, lawn mowers, hand tools, pumps, chainsaws, pick up trucks, tractors, farm machinery, and implements.
Performs basic road maintenance by clearing drainage, spreading road surface material, filling pot holes, placement of signs, repairing fences, removing trees, etc.
Makes minor repairs to navigational locks such as replacing hydraulic hoses.
AS A MARINE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER
Performs minor repairs on marine vessels.
Performs general maintenance on all marine facilities.
Participates in the painting, pipefitting, carpentry, sand blasting, and electrical repair of marine vessels and related equipment.
Performs minor maintenance on all assigned equipment.
Performs other duties or assignments as directed by Marine Foreman or Marine Maintenance Superintendent.
