Job Description:

Perform additional plant tasks including, but not limited to: •Operate vehicles, including but not limited to, on yard movement of trucks, tractors, trailers, and rolloffs. •Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts or similar equipment as part of unloading and loading vehicles for processing or transfer. •Stage waste containers for weighing and scanning in the SteriWorks system. •Weigh and scan waste containers into the SteriWorks system for proper recordkeeping purposes. •Empty waste containers into process bins/receptacles, decant containers for transfer and/or load waste containers onto conveyor system for incineration. •Place reusable containers on wash line for decontamination. •Operate reusable container wash unit to properly decontaminate reusable containers. Remove clean containers, inspect for serviceability and compliance and stage for loading onto assigned vehicles for reuse. •Decontaminate cargo area of vehicles and ensure vehicle cargo areas do not have free liquid on the floors. Load reusable containers and other service supplies on vehicles as assigned. •Ensure work area is clean and free of debris; clean up all spills immediately.

Job Description:
We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor to ensure that the directives of the company and facility manager are followed with regards to establishing, monitoring, and maintaining process productivity and efficiencies on each of the operating shift at the in-cinerator plant. Monitors and ensures that regulatory and safety compliance polices are strictly adhered to. Fosters a One Team, One Goal production culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure the incinerator employees and shift leads maintain productivity standards in all phases of their operations. Review shift productivity to identify maximum efficiencies and operational opportunities. Manages all Incineration personnel and insure they perform their tasks safely while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times.
Manages and maintains regulatory compliance within the plant and plant yard. Maintain orders incinerator processing supplies consisting of PPE, uniforms, cleaning material, processing chemicals, etc., to ensure that adequate inventories are always available. Initiate actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices.
Responsible for the hiring, training and development of Incineration personnel. This also includes insuring that all monthly and other required employee training, including safety and compliance training is maintained and up to date. Manages and maintains a high standard of operational excellence in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, either internally or externally.
Coordinate customer needs by adhering to a defined processing schedule. Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals. Performs facility audits, review of all applicable regulatory paperwork, e.g., Title V or other permit or company specific records, etc.). Manages and monitors daily performance of incinerator employees, directly or within guidance, providing feedback (including growth opportunities).
Influence hiring and firing decisions and disciplinary procedures. Assist in resolving plant problems and issues between sales, drivers, and plant/maintenance team.
Works with Facility Manager to ensure budget compliance for the operation of the plant process. Coordinates with maintenance concerning shutdown scheduling and maintenance needs.
Works directly with the Facility Manager and the Maintenance Manager to identify opportunities for operational improvements as well as identifying short term and long-term opportunities. Vigorously supports Stericycle's commitment to safety, compliance, corporate cultural initiatives, and supports all policies and procedures as established within the policies and procedures manual.
Working with incineration shift leads, manages and schedules employee vacation and backfills as needed. Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Job Requirements
Education equivalent to graduation from High school, or has attained GED. Two or more years of related experience or training, or combination of experience and training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior service in a variety of settings and situations.
Two or more years of industry related experience as a supervisor or the equivalent in related work experience (management). Must be flexible, goal orientated, results driven, focused, and have the ability to meet goals and deadlines on a consistent basis. Job Summary
AECOM is hiring for DoD projects supporting US Forces in Operation Inherent Resolve. This is a Contingent Task Order with personnel deployed with the U.S. military at joint installations in Afghanistan. Services provided under this Task Order include response to environmental issues facing the U.S. military, including solid waste recycling, responding to fuel spills, and providing Subject Matter Expertise and other specialized support for various Environmental Corrective Actions in theatre.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Setup and trouble-shooting incinerators from 1-20 TPD
Maintaining an existing inventory of surplus incinerators is mission ready condition
Assisting US Forces with deployment and setup of containerized incinerators to FOB
This is a deployed assignment in Afghanistan. Austere living conditions and travel from primary base of operations to Forward Operating Locations is required. Candidate must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
Minimum Requirements
Trained in the operation of incinerator systems and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the operation, repair and training for various incineration systems, as well as the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. This position may require travel throughout the CENTCOM to provide the training and maintenance support. Preferred training for the Incinerator Manager is the OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER.

Keeps all energy center equipment and operations equipment clean and in operating condition.
Operates and maintains all hospital equipment and tools for maximum efficiency, performance and longevity.

Operates high pressure boilers including: start, stop, change fuel sources, log meter readings, disassembles, cleans and repairs boilers.
Tests water samples from boiler, chillers, closed loop systems, water softeners, condensate and cooling towers. Interprets test results and treats with chemical or adjusts chemical feed rates correctly and performs blowdown on systems as scheduled.
Checks fuel oil tank levels and fires boilers on fuel oil.
Uses energy management computer system to control and to monitor operation of equipment.
Inspects the equipment and the operation of the boiler room hourly and other mechanical rooms daily to verify that safety regulations and efficient operations are maintained and record all pertinent data in their respective logbooks.
Maintains water levels in boilers as well as domestic hot and cold water tanks.
Observes meters, records, pressure and draft gauges and manipulates valves to bring readings within specified requirements.

Candidates who possess a current Virginia Wastewater License from Class IV - Class I and have wastewater experience may be hired in above the entry level trainee in accordance with the Service Authority's Career Path Policy requirements. The candidate will be required to meet Service Authority specific requirements within a set period of time.
Candidates for this position will receive overtime each pay period when assigned to a rotating shift and will also receive shift differential pay when working during the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Employees working on a rotating shift work 14 days in a 28 day cycle.
Position Summary:
Learns to perform technical work in the operation and maintenance of an advanced water reclamation facility. The work involves working with experienced wastewater treatment plant operators as part of a planned program to learn the duties and to acquire certifications. Employees may be assigned various projects for learning and developmental purposes and perform helper duties while serving as trainees. Workers follow specific instructions and procedures and refer nonstandard situations or problems to others.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
Learns water reclamation facility operation to include:
Ensuring proper operation and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment used in wastewater treatment; oils and adjusts machines; to determine if process changes are required and make adjustments; to calibrate meters in preparation to run tests on various samples; to start and stop plant machinery and pumps as required; to regulate valves and observe and record plant flows; to operate and maintain incinerator.
Operating equipment such as blowers for air supply to activated sludge, influent and backwash pumps for filtration, UV for disinfecting, centrifuge for dewatering and incinerator for solids and scum disposal.
Maintaining logs and to record all parameters related to plant operations; to record and manage the consumption of all chemicals used at the plant; to collect composite samples for process control and permit compliance; to perform testing on various samples in order to make lime feed change; to use computer graphics and trends to identify necessary plant changes and/or adjustments.
Monitoring Solids Handling; to collect samples from holding tanks, gravity thickeners and cake pump; to obtain level readings from holding tanks and gravity thickeners; to run tests on holding tank samples; to check equipment settings; to open and close chain valves at scheduled times.
Making routine checks throughout the plant; to record temperature and pressure readings to exercise and check position of valves; to check operation of pumps, and to haul sludge: visually inspect the facility.
Monitoring SCADA system in order to stay within specific guidelines; to record equipment information from equipment; to identify problems; to connect and disconnect fuel oil line, water sprayers as required.
Performing preventive maintenance; to steam clean hoses and equipment; to check oil and temperature; to clean filters, hose draft tubes; to pump standing water; and to perform other related maintenance duties for units.
Learns to coordinate the plant's maintenance requirements with superiors; to ensure that the plant is operated efficiently and at minimum reasonable cost; to ensure that all equipment and machinery is kept in good working condition.
Learns to collect and test samples; to collect data from field testing samples; to perform various tests on wastewater samples.
May be deemed essential at any time.

- First Operator / Part Time. Part time Operators work variable schedules including days evenings, weekends and holidays as available.
Primary responsibilities include:
Operate and maintain boilers, on scheduled rotational shifts
Operate and maintain boilers, incinerators and associated equipment
Make periodic tours of assigned equipment and systems within Compound, recording required data
Monitor water treatment program for Central Plant
Monitor and execute the Lock-out/Tag-out program
Report all faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences to the Chief Engineer
Respond to emergency situations on assigned equipment, performing all tasks necessary for the protection of property and personnel
Assume all responsibilities and duties of Second Operator as required
Assume all responsibilities of HVAC Grade I as assigned by Chief Engineer on maintenance days
Direct Second Operator when authorized by Chief Engineer
Perform other job related work as required
Monitor and operate assigned control systems
Minimum Requirements
Active Top Secret SCI Clearance and willingness to be submitted for a high level government clearances to include a government polygraph.
Four years experience in commercial/industrial operations
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess Class I stationery engineer License, DC 3rd steam boiler engineer license or equivalent
Must possess universal CFC certification
Able to read and interpret blueprints
Working knowledge of piping systems
Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions
Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Working knowledge of HVAC systems
Ability to write correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Have basic computer skills
Formalized training in stationery engineering or related crafts

Distillation Operator 1:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Run distillation units by connecting feed, product, and sludge tanks and apply proper amount of heat from boilers and maintain operating hourly logs to insure that unit is operating at peak efficiency
Charge and discharge pot stills with appropriate gallon amounts of liquid to run product to specifications.
Perform compatibility testing on a variety of hazardous materials to be mixed forrecovery to insure that mixtures are in compliance with recoveryspecifications.
Analyze process samples for water, solid, pH, specific gravity and chemical composition to properly and effectively meet specifications for all aspect of the distillation process including recovery,fuels blending and tank management.
Retrieve clean tank recovery samples and route to laboratory along with appropriate paper work to ascertain quality of recovery.
Load, unload, and sample bulk tankers and/or drums to ascertain accuracy of hazardous materials contents prior to applying the recovery process.
Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to insure optimum efficiency and effectiveness to completion of project(s) in a timely manner.
Non-Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned including, but are not limited to, housekeeping, non-process related maintenance, yard tanker and van trailer driving, Lab Tech analysis,fuels blending, incineration blending and all other TSDF related tasks not related to distillation processing.
Education/Experience:
HighSchool diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred
Prior work experience in the hazardous waste/related industry preferred
Certification/Licenses:
40-HourHAZWOPER training
