This Designer is detail oriented with an elevated sense of Design, and has extensive experience bringing products successfully from concept to production. Proficiency with 3d CAD software & advanced surface modeling is a must; PTC Creo is strongly preferred
Proficiency with 2d & 3d rendering software to quickly create photo realistic imagery (Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot)
Strong model making skills: ability to quickly mock-up concepts, prototypes, from concept to finished appearance models
Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills, a keen design sensibility, and a high attention to detail
Highly organized: Ability to deliver top quality work in a fast-paced, open team environment, while working on multiple projects in varying levels of development

(30%) Create Aesthetic Design Solutions:
Creates higher level of aesthetic design solutions that are aligned with the business strategies and departmental goals. Creates trending and mood board solutions and presents to Industrial Design group and internal and/or external customers.
Provides current trend right designs that meet our internal and external customer needs. Stays aware of new styles and trends.
Communicates design intent through 2D/3D drawings and project documentation to support market research and product development. Creates relatively complex Design Modeling (CAID models) of parts and assemblies.
Participates in design critiques and articulates personal opinions as well as design methodology techniques. Begins to lead project presentations.
(35%) Concept Development & Problem Solving
Develops and refines relatively complex concepts and/or specifications to meet project CTQs and brand guidelines. Integrates industrial design and CTQ requirements for cost solutions.
Incorporates a higher level of knowledge of Human Factors, Ergonomics, Usability Analysis, and Product Materials and Manufacturing Processes to personal and Work Team assignments.
Applies fundamental knowledge of User Interface (UI) & User Experience (UX) methodologies to personal and Work Team assignments. Applies fundamental knowledge of color, texture, finish and graphics, when required.
Works with engineers to ensure aesthetic design is properly implemented in the final product release. Creates Industrial Design geometry releases.
(5%) Creates 3D visualizations to support market research. Contributes to market research planning and execution activities.
(5%) Creates design and form study models to progress industrial design concepts. Coordinate internal and/or external resources in creating physical models from the CAD data. (i.e. 3D Print, Stereolithography, Finished Model, & CNC services).
(10%) Delivers functional and/or aesthetic innovation through relatively complex industrial design projects and/or activities. Develops advanced industrial design solutions using fundamental innovative methodologies and execution.
(5%) Provides appropriate documentation for US and foreign patents; able to work with legal department.
(10%) Supports the HHI organization in relatively complex design activities outside of the product development process. For example customer tours, packaging concepts, exhibition design, customer collaborations, etc.
Education and Experience Profile
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a BFA or BS in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent.
3+ years of professional experience required, preferably in a high volume consumer products industry.
Experience in design and development of products that use screw machining, injection molding, die casting, stamping, and forging processes preferred.
Proficient in 2D/3D Sketching Ability, Model Making and Form Study Models, Creative Problem Solving, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, 3D CAID (Creo preferred), Document Control software (WindChill preferred), and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Demonstrates sensitivity to 3D Form Development and Proportions, Color, Texture, Finish, and Graphics.
Demonstrates competency in Design Processes and Methodologies, Innovation Methodologies and Execution, Materials and Process Specifications, and Manufacturing Systems and Operations.
Familiar with Design Research Methodologies, Planning / Execution, 3D Computer Rendering and Animation (KeyShot preferred), Presentation Software, and project planning software in planning/tracking development projects
