WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The purpose of this position is to design and fabricate broadcast and production equipment while specializing in audio and mechanical systems at NEP's Systems Integration facility.
Assists in the design and development of new or existing systems/facilities with specialization in television mobile unit trailers, Fly Pack and Studio systems. This Includes digitizing physical objects and assemblies from existing drawings, publishing documents from relevant CAD drawings, and preparing modifications of designs.
Produces drawing packages from various disciplines including; structural, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, interior and console design, as well as architectural, interior/exterior materials and finishes.
Works from requirements or instructions to design and develop complex new assemblies or redesign existing components to improve equipment, systems, and workflows.
Offers insight to techniques, methodology, and materials to improve systems, installation and fabrication.
Assists in the selection materials, equipment, and components.
Reviews and researches the assembly, fabrication, and tests feasibility of prototypes and equipment.
Work with the design team, mechanical and technical supervisors, and project coordinator to develop and verify designs, order needed materials, and assure necessary inventory is available to implement designs.
Work closely with the System design and Engineering teams to implement designs and assist with continuous improvement, design validation, and component organization.
Communicates with vendors and manufacturers to obtain information and assistance as needed.
Assists in developing budgets and project proposals.
Visits project sites, production floor, maintenance shop to R&D designs, assess progress and assist with troubleshooting, testing, implementation and design improvement as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Completion of Associates or Technical Degree is preferred from an accredited Design, Technology, or Engineering School.
Industry experience is a plus.

The Industrial Designer will work closely with engineers and game designers to develop innovative and user-friendly gaming products. The designer is involved throughout the development process from initial concept and design to prototyping, testing, vendor selection, and quality assurance. A strong focus is applied to the product aesthetics, ergonomics and overall user experience.
The duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:
Create innovative and exciting concepts for both new and existing products
Liaison with external design firm to develop new concepts for start-of-the-art gaming products
Sketch ideas and create renderings to communicate design intent
Evaluate new concepts by creating physical prototypes
Define Color, Material, Finish (CMF) and Lighting for new product development

Communicate appearance quality standards and coordinate with suppliers as necessary. Assist with product graphics. Support Engineering and Manufacturing in the development of prototypes, Manufacturing Check Samples and pre-productions units. Conduct field testing in conjunction with Engineering to ensure user needs have been met. Support continuous improvement projects after product introduction.
- Support project leader with project documentation. Assist with product photography. Create and submit for design competitions. Perform other duties as assigned.
