This position is responsible for maintaining and installing Xcel Energy gas mains, services, reg-stations, meter sets and respond to customer gas leak inside and out. We anticipate the need for one or more Gas Service Fitters in Grand Junction, Colorado. The starting rate of pay for this position is $40.38 hourly.
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: install, maintain, and perform required inspections on all gas meters, regulators, mains, services, and odorization equipment for residential, commercial, and industrial customers; operate mechanical trenching/excavating equipment and related tools necessary to install gas mains and services
Respond to routine and emergency orders
Evaluate operational characteristics of gas-fired appliances and associated equipment, ie fuel line flex connectors, vents; PE fusion; operational surveys; locating; meter reading; valve maintenance; and material handling
Must have a High School diploma or GED
Must be cross trained
Must have completed an approved apprentice program and be qualified as a journeyman
Must have a current CDL
Must live 30 miles or 30 minutes of the Grand Junction Service Center
Must be able to lift 90 pounds safely
Must pass a Gas Respirator Qualification Test and will be subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing

Must have experience with aerospace castings cored IGT products.
- Utilizes process knowledge, basic engineering principles, previous experience, and creativity as necessary to develop processes that result in the production of quality castings that conform to customer specifications and time tables.
- Develop raw material specifications for vendor certification. Establish in-house quality testing criteria and capabilities, as necessary, to certify all incoming ceramic materials for production consumption.
- Develop the SPC methodologies necessary for process control monitoring of assigned production areas and processes, such as injection molding, firing and dimensional control.
- Develop and maintain blending techniques to target specific particle size distributions for control of material properties such as material rheology, shrinkage factor, material strength and stability.
- Participate in plant initiatives to support the reduction of scrap, rework and overall casting cost. Initiatives include but not limited to daily scrap reviews, development of SPC for significant process steps and participation in cost improvement teams.
- Develop and maintain all procedures required to support actions listed above.
- Interface with customer and supplier representatives to develop new products, participate in joint cost reduction initiatives, and support general customer program requirements.
- Support the development of new technologies to support plant initiatives.
- Direct the daily activities of technicians responsible for process control testing and production of feedstock used to manufacture ceramic cores and investment shell molds.
- Contribute to the establishment of a World Class Investment Casting Manufacturing Operation focused on Employee Safety, Procedural Compliance, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S/OpEx.

- Performs material fitting work including fit-up of welded or bolted detail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES:
Responsible for fit-up of welded or bolted detail, show weld sizes, piece marks, direction marks, etc., with instruction from supervision.
Hold sufficient knowledge in burning, welding, and operation of production machines and cranes.
Read and interpret drawings and sketches showing simple structures assemblies, and jig work with limited instructions from supervision.

Capable of crane operations and rigging of structural steel.

- Hold valid certificate, or pass weld test upon employment.
Ability to lift, carry 60Lbs., or maneuver objects, difficult objects will be lifted with the assistance of mechanical means or additional manpower.
Must be able to lift 4 ft., 60 lb. spool of wire and load welding machine.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding.
- May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.

Located in Waltham, MA, Tecogen is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter/Pipe Welder to work in our manufacturing facility. Tecogen designs and manufactures engine driven industrial generators, chillers, and heat pumps. This position requires performing a diverse set pipe welding and copper brazing operations in the final assembly of our large and complex industrial products.
This is a good opportunity for Pipe Welders / Pipe Fitters looking to work indoors, in a clean, climate controlled, manufacturing environment.
Welder Fabricators that do not have the required Pipe Fitting/Pipe Welding experience Do Not apply.
Tig welding of steel and stainless steel pipe up to 4" pipe out of position.
The ability to cut and fit pipe and perform other material layout.
Mig welding of light structural steel.
Basic fabrication skills such as milling, drilling, tapping, cutting, and bending.
Fitting, soldering, and brazing copper tube up to 3" diameter.
Flexibility to work overtime on an as needed basis.
Trade school graduate
3 Plus years experience in working as a Pipe Welder or Pipe Fitter.
Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Forklift or crane operation experience is a plus
Pressure and vacuum tests of ASME certified vessels is a plus.
