The Industrial Health & Safety Technicianworks directly within the Manufacturing Operations department to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards. Support the Injury and Illness Prevention Program for the facility
Support and manage the Arconic corporate occupational health initiatives
Manage and report on Arconic ASATs (self-assessment tests) for the EHS department

Overview The Regional Industrial Hygiene (IH) Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership of Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs in the Americas. Responsible for operating environmental programs. Serves as a resource for facility and subcontractor personnel working in a variety of industrial fields associated with ship repair. The areas include: on board sea going vessels and ships; industrial shops; dry docks, etc., ensuring compliance with established Federal OSHA, State OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Maritime regulations and/or requirements.
- Conducts operations in accordance with Federal and State requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental requirements for state, federal and applicable standards.
- Performs daily ESH inspections in all shops, vessels and operating areas in which repairs are being conducted.
- Responsible for enforcement of ESH shop procedures.
- Ensures ESH processes are in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Distributes weekly Gang box trainings, ensuring employees are educated on hazards associated with their job duties.
- Assists ESH department in data entry and recordkeeping requirements.

- Ensures that hazardous waste is properly identified, stored and disposed of in accordance with Federal and State requirements.
- Executes PCE’s hazardous waste spill prevention program to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of previous work in the field of safety and environmental related experience preferred. Management may determine an applicant qualified/may qualify for the position if the applicant has the necessary knowledge and/or certifications to meet the requirements.
- Must possess knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, 1915 and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Knowledge of proper investigation and reporting of environmental incidents and recommending corrective action.
- Knowledge of ship repair specifications commensurate with ship-wide/multi-ship repair initiatives (preferred).
