Under general supervision of Department Lead or Supervisor, the Wax Injector operates manual/automatic/semi-automatic wax injection equipment to produce a variety of patterns in wax and dies generally supplied.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works from established procedures and/or special instructions to assemble multi-section dies, including soluble wax inlays or other inserts.
Applies liquid and dry release agents and clamps as necessary.
Positions assembled die and injects following established procedure.
Disassembles die, removes and checks pattern for completeness and correctness of injection in compliance with specified dimensions.
Within accepted limits vary dwell, injection pressure, temperature or other factors as necessary to obtain acceptable pattern; notifies supervision of unusual condition.
Chills dies as required to avoid overheating.
Disposes of defective patterns as directed.
Obtains own liquid and powdered release agents from storage areas.
Detects and reports improper operation, low work levels, and any unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Inspects parts using visual and dimensional techniques, i.e. calipers straight edge, etc. and sketches.
Performs a variety of other duties and tasks of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to dimensionally inspect parts using calipers, straight edge, sketches, etc.
Able to work in a production environment.
Able to read and comprehend English.
Able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Able to pass visual acuity test
Willing to work overtime and non-traditional work weeks.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in manufacturing wax injection operations preferred.
High School Diploma/GED preferred

Under general supervision, designs Lumineers, PJC's, copings/framework for high quality porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns, full cast crowns (gold) and metal based bridges using the CAD/CAM Dental design software.
Read and interpret Doctor's prescription forms to design porcelain restorations.
Follow direction and input from manager, consultant, QC and technicians to assure case success.
Provide feedback to Model Workers in terms of quality of model prep work, as appropriate, for a case's production.
Use CAD software design tools to ensure RX anatomy, margin, color, contact and occlusion requirements are achieved in accordance with Doctor prescription.
Ensure work is complete, accurate, and up to standard.
Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures including ISO, safety, and security.
Maintain organized and clean work area ensuring tools and supplies are stored in proper places at end of shift.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM computer software.
