Traffic Signal Technician
The Traffic Signal Technician performs skilled electronic and electrical work in the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and testing of all electronic traffic control equipment. Fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signs, and markings. Assists and performs skilled work in installation, repair and maintenance of all traffic signal equipment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs skilled electronic and electrical work in the installation, repair and testing of all traffic control equipment, including all microprocessor, digital and solid state intersection signal controllers, master traffic controllers, coordination units, vehicle detection devices, conflict/malfunction monitors, load packs, and emergency opticom equipment.
Performs skilled construction, installation, preventive and corrective maintenance work on all traffic control equipment, including signal heads, pull boxes, control cabinets, and all wiring.
Monitors performance of traffic control devices utilizing features of computerized master control system and maintains communications to all interconnected traffic controllers.
Maintains records of conflict/malfunction monitor tests, underground facilities locations, preventive maintenance, and installed equipment. Performs annual certification of all conflict/malfunction monitors.
Assists in performing traffic progression changes to facilitate efficient traffic flow.
Installs and maintains copper twisted pair and fiber optic communications cables.
Assist staff in the use of equipment and tools associated with various traffic control devices, when necessary.
Designs and constructs electronic and electrical system modifications, coordinating equipment with division specifications and current operational systems.
Maintains proper operation of school zone safety flashers.
Performs fabrication, installation, and maintenance of all traffic signs and signposts, including special signs and banners for other City Departments.
Performs lane marking layout, installation, removal, and painting of pavement markings such as stop bars, crosswalks, turn arrows, lane lines, curbs, parking lots, etc. Works with inlay and overlay of plastic tape. Operates and maintains painting equipment
Maintains inventory of traffic control equipment and related parts.
Responds to after hour emergencies when on-call. Repairs malfunctioning, knocked down or inoperable traffic regulatory device.

Education and Experience
Education: High School Education or GED
Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of sign and marking experience and 1 year of traffic signal experience preferred.
Certifications and/or Licensures: IMSA Traffic Signal Technician, Level I, IMSA Signs and Markings Specialist Level I, Work Zone Safety Certification, Flagger Certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Required Driver's License: Valid Colorado state issued Driver's License: Class B CDL within 6 months of hire
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted. Other Information

Ability to operate aerial lifts, boom truck, drill press, pneumatic tools, and jackhammer
- Strong skills needed to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, City administrative staff, other City employees and representatives of major vendors, community organizations, institutions, other governmental agencies and the general public.
Basic written skills needed for the report of malfunction condition and status for manufacturer repair.
- Strong skills needed for fault isolation in field maintenance, and for the design and application of traffic signal modifications.
- Basic skills needed for the calculation of wattage tables, and parking lot and crosswalk layout.
Tile Installer Encore Boston Harbor
ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that will feature 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. The Encore Boston Harbor Tile Installer will be responsible for all maintenance and repair of all tile covered surfaces within the resort, including floors and walls. Specialty areas include maintenance and repair of hand cut mosaic inlays in floors and walls.

Actively contributes to the departmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.

Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.
Balances multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
Examines plans, measuring and marking surfaces and laying out work.
Prepares wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
Uses tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes.
Ensure tiles are correctly aligned and spaced.
Applies waterproofing systems.
May lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition.
May lay colored tiles in patterns to create mosaics.
Works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Valid Massachusetts Driver License Preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
High school or equivalent degree required. Successful completion of an apprenticeship, vocational/trade, or college courses in a related preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of tiling experience, including mosaic, required.
Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment and materials. Fluent knowledge of chemicals, SDS personal protection equipment, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
